Anyone buy stocks through an online broker? I'm looking at Ameritrade but would like some feedback from people that may use other services.

There are many resources that can give you a better 'comparison study' of online brokerage houses than GFY folks.
What are you looking exactly? Low commissions, fast execution, options trading, what?? 1. The average to open an account is usually $2000.00 2. Buy/Sell orders happen pretty fast but are determined by the market 3. Commissions for buy/sale market orders are in the $15 range. Options commissions are usually in the $25 range. 4. You'll need to sign a document if you want to trade options (calls/puts) 5. You'll have to fill out an app to open a margin account Not sure what you wanted to know exactly so I'm not sure if anything I've said will help you out or not. Try asking the folks at http://www.RagingBull.com, they'll be more than happy to help you out.

Nobody knows more than GFY members As far as what they require, they are all about the same and your list is accurate. I guess I'm looking for people that have experience with one company or another. Did XYZ-traders deliver the services they promised? Anyone get fucked by hidden fine print? That kind of shit. Just a general question. Thanks for the input, you too EZRhino

I personally like Etrade.
Pretty good reports, and if I may add ya might wanna consider what type of trade account ya wanna set up. I am on a Roth IRA however there are other types as well. I trade regularly almost daily. Its fun and stressful at the same time. Kinda like XXX
