easy shit, just get a capture card and plug your vcr to it and capture with virtual dub which is free.

I have what looks like a RCA video input on the back of my comp i wonder if i can plug my vcr into it..but i will still get no sound.
"capture card" does it plug into my fire wire?

no capture card is not firewire, try searching for google for capture cards...I can pick one up for 100 canadain here or 700 if i want the best ATI video card with capturing ability.
Once you have it you can capture any incoming video or tv signal very easily with vdub |

easy to do and theres tons of tutorials and message board posts out there to get you through it with whatever card/software you decide on...
