Spam Prevention Question
Ok, I have tried jsut about all the spam filters and plugins for Outlook out there and I am not finding one worth a shit. I am currently using MailWasher Pro but this program defeats the purpose in a way, you check with it and block and bounce, then you gotta open your damn email program and downlaod email and in the mean time 20 more spams jsut came in so they don't fo to your mailwasher they go into your email program, what the hell purpose does this help?
Anyone had any real good luck with anything? I tried the outlook plugins but when you gotta still go through your Spam folder to make sure it didn't consider any friends or important emails as spam then why it have to start with? I have tried using spamcop's plugin on my linux server and that doesn't help worth a shit either, hell sometimes it even blocks my own emails from sending out. Help if you have found a good solution for fighting or blocking spam!!! |

I've been quite happy with SpamAssassin. It takes a bit of configuring, but once you get it tweaked its very accurate.

We put SpamAssassin on all our servers and you simply set filters to send anything tagged as **SPAM** to your trash bin.
You can even adjust the level of protection you wish to use on your email accounts... If your host does not offer this check out our specials |

I get about 150 spams and about 10 legitimate emails daily. The turds go to the **SPAM** folder for quick review. Spampal uses a combination of blocklists and a Regex( keyword) filter. It also has some very powerful whitelisting features to allowed selected emails to always get through.
Trust me, it is worth a try. I find it 98-99% effective. Occasionally a spam gets through and legit email get filtered, put its very, very good. |

http://www.postini.com/ is what my ISP uses and I love it! Just change your MX servers and they real time filter messages and pass them on to you. Not sure what the cost is though. Might be more then an indivual would want to pay.
