Hell, i moved here for the rain and gray weather. This summer was fuckin bullshit. I thought I was trapped in some nightmare called California all summer long. Hot and sunny all summer. It stayed that everthing started turning brown.

I'd rather be stuck in the rain than surrounded by dead shit everywhere. The absence of green is just depressing. I wish i lived in Gotham :).

Pack yer bags and head on down to California. I know a person or two who've left here for their weather and never looked back. They love it down there. Different strokes .... ;)

Fuck yeah someone finally gets it here. Why the fuck you live in Seattle and not like the rain??

Cloudy and grey, thats the way I like my days!

All it did was rain and it was grey all the time...

And, then we moved to the hell they call Georgia....and it was 11 months of that bright yellow thing which scorched my eyeballs and caused my skin to break out in strange eruptions....

Fortunately, hell only lasted three years and we moved back last year.

I noticed something I had not noticed before...and, that was..

Seattle goes through weather changes sixteen times a day....grey....then shades of grey..designers would love the spectrum of colours.....then the sun comes out and then it mists...and then does a little cloudy and the cycle begins again....

In the summer, there is no bluer sky than Seattle...and the mountains and the water......fabulous.....

There are beautiful places all over the world....but...I'm a webmaster....I'm in front of a computer all day....what the hell do I care whether it rains...or drizzles...or pisses, as we call it....

I love it here now. Glad I got a second chance and I've got Mount Rainier pretty much in my back yard...I'm about 40 minutes south of Seattle.

Interesting what you say about designers liking the spectrums of color.
If you look at SoulCash I specifically took color samples (The blue and the orange) from a picture of a sunset from the east side.:thumbsup

Are you kidding? I love this weather. I've had my windows open and loving the smell and sounds of this rain for the last 24 hours. It's been great.

Sure I got a little waterlogged going out to the mail, but I'm not outdoors much anyway. My poor fiance almost drown coming home from work today, but that's his fault for leaving the house and not staying home to make porn sites with me. :1orglaugh

I've been dying to move here since I was a kid. Finally moved and the first thing I did was buy some gortex everything and a nice Seattle Sombrero at the outdoor store. Sure it was August and there wasn't a cloud in site, but I knew it was coming. I've gotten good use out of it the last few years. Today it was shorts, sandals, rain coat and hat down to the post office to pick up checks.

The rain I love. The cold I could do without. Pretty soon we're going to be cheering when the high is in the mid 40's around here. I'm enjoying this warm rain while it lasts.

Weird, I've been saying the exact opposite here in Cali. I love when it rains.

I moved to Seattle August of 97

... clean air, beautiful lush green trees and grass everywhere (not talking about weed), blue skies, and 78 - 85 degrees every day...

FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS!

... then it rained for 10 MONTHS STRAIGHT!!!

ARRRGGHHH!

LOL

Don't get it twisted

... I loved Seattle, and the people were great ... and it really didn't rain for 10 months straight ... BUT ... it WAS grey and dreary for 10 months straight and misty and it rained almost everyday at some point. Kinda depressing for sure!!!

After almost 2 years it got to me ... and I had to move back to LA.

NOW I LIVE IN SAN DIEGO ... and this place is friggin' PARADISE!!! Condo on the beach ... sunny and in the 70's every day ... LOVIN' IT!!! :winkwink:

I think I'll be here a while!

:)

RobertD 10-21-2003 05:30 AM

Still pouring up here in Bellingham. May need some scuba gear here soon

You got a couple of couches that me and RobertD can crash on?

Just until next August when the sun comes out again.

They should give all new arrivals a Costco-sized bottle of Prozac.

I think it is amazing that I live just a few miles North of downtown Seattle, and the weather is so much nicer up here. I used to go into Seattle every day, and it would be beautiful up here, and gray and nasty down there.

The West Coast of Canada is under water right now. Fuck bad year for the West Coasters. In the summer they couldn't get enough rain to put out the forest fires.

EZRhino 10-21-2003 10:30 AM

Sucks, that it rains 9 months out of the year.

I do miss the fall in the North East and I do miss the snow.

It took me ten years to get it together to move to Seattle....

But..I moved to Seattle because I love the mountains and the water.....and the trees....the grass is always green, except in August when it's real dry....

SixNine....I like Soul Cash's design..now I know why. :)

Umbrella? Raincoats? Boots? Nah...it's just water...

The trees are magnificent and the damned sun hurts my eyes....

I hope to never leave the northwest...

I would much rather live further north.....we originally lived in Shoreline....But....Tev's mom lives with us and the family is here....so, that's why we are south of Seattle....But, hell, the house is pretty and comfortable....I don't mind driving.....

To each his/her own.....and there are plenty of reasons to live anywhere...I guess the real point is....find a place that you really want to be....because that can contribute to your state of mind and affect your productivity....Georgia, while great for those who love it..almost killed me.

And....not everyone can handle the grey and the weather changes....

Flynn 10-21-2003 11:22 AM

this weather isn't bad. at least it's not raining today ;)
