ldinternet,

your ISP or connection might be fucked. i remember i was at this educational institution and once you loaded a site, and the tried to load a site that was being hosted off the same IP, you'd get the first site you loaded.

i didn't know what was causing the error, but i knew it was the cache. i wonder if those two sites are on the same IP?

I'm using AOL, it's about as fucked as you can get.

I've never visited that site before so I don't know where it came from. Some strange shit has been happening with my browser recently... I went to plrradio.com the other night and got the Porn City BBS. I've done a virus scan, scandisk, defragged and cleared everything out (including the content.ie5 folder) and yet the computer still fucks up. I guess I'll have to reformat. Fuck!

What are you defragging with? MS Defrag s*cks wind alot. Try shutting off your screensaver and then do it all again, dump, defrag etc. That will help a good bit of the time. Even speed disk will have probs on occasion. But you kick that ss off, cold boot and then redo the maintenace and see what happens.

Hey thanks Gemini. You caught me red handed, I use MS defrag. I heard that it was as good as anything... but just slow. I guess not, lol.

I don't use a screensaver, or power management - everything is always on, so there is no problem with it resetting. I also use CTRL ALT DELETE to end programs before defrag, I never have any problems.

Although I will try something new... any recommendations?

Norton SystemWorks! Get the latest version and it has all sorts of goodies like Norton Anti-virus, and a bunch of other handy utilities that will take better care of your system than anything on the market.

Plus when you go for the next version the upgrade is really reasonable. Should be like 90 for the full version. It has WinDoctor that scans and will come up to tell you to run it and it allows you to get rid of hotkeys and all sorts of mistakes that Windows leaves in itself which slows your system.

We managed to run this terminal for 2 yrs now with NO HD redo's. (It's due now) but how many systems run Windows for any period of time without having to either re-install Windows over itself or completely redoing the whole hard drive. I think the new version has Norton Internet Security too (altho its not the best firewall I hear) Go check it out at http://www.symantec.com /

We larnt that thar in coludg! lol All the techs swore by Norton.

Now if Peter would just gimme a nickel for each plug I give him! lmbo

Your an asshole. Bumping old threads can be fun but not at the expense of the program owners.
