Yes, there were audio files that were shared around, christmas songs, music, etc.. as long as it isn't MIDI or MOD, you may have some prior art.

Most important, is if possible, to be able to verify the date via BBS log file (do a google search on the filename to see if you can find it somewhere), or a CDROM archive that might have it.
