Awww...very cute. Bassett Hounds and Beagles are some of the best pets you can own. I've always had both my whole life.

I had a 9 year old BH named Rufus who got hit by a car 2 years ago.

He was THE best dog. But he was the laziest fucker on the planet, lol. He would lie down in the middle of the drive way and would NOT move when you tried to back the car out. I'd rev the engine, blow the horn- it didn't matter. I would have to get out of the car and physically drag his big ass over into the yard. He wouldn't even lift his head up. And when I'd get home, he'd usually still be lying in the exact same spot where I left him.

awesome low activity dogs. i get an hour or two of play outa skufty a day (including his walk)- and he's more than happy with that as long as there's 3-4 feedings during the day.

in case you're wondering this dog door leads to a fensed in play area for skufty. No chance of him getting out and ending up on the road and he can let himself to goto the washroom anytime of the day or night that he wants. Saves me having to let him out.

if you can fit through the dog door you're welcome to come in, in fact my main door is usually open as well (canadian thing) But when i'm in vegas skufty has a live in babysitter that stays with him in my home. It' s easier on him to stay in his home when I go away than take him to someone else's home so i pay someone to stay with him. not hard to find people to do it since I have a lot of toys in the house - (hot tub, big screen, full bar, electric massauge chairs etc...)
