:mad CECash fails with Google, fix your problems pls

I was just informed by CECash that 80% of my signups coming directly from my ad on Google were resulting in cancellations. I saw sometime last year that Google was doing pretty good with signups to CECash's Homegrown Video. So I decide to leave my add there and it turns out to be a great source of extra income. Then I notice CECash is giving away hats and shirts on here and I of course request one. The next day I notice Pay it Forward my stats are acting "wierd". So I email them and after getting the run around for a few days I finally get a response, that my signups were resuling in 80% cancellations, so they moved me from getting Pay it Forward signups to $55 per active join. I don't think it's my fault that 80% of users from Google (reputably having the cream of the crop in terms of visitors using that search engine) don't like that site. I explained this to CECash support and they wanted to know what keywords I was using. Um "amateur sex" and "amateur porn"- I don't think it gets any easier than that. It's not like I was using "beaver sex" as a fucking keyword. Hell, I didn't even mention that the site has a free sign up. I got an A in college english so I don't think me and my abilities are the problem here (Since then, I've since become a full time gallery submitter and am making an excellent living gaining over 100,000 click throughs to sponsors per month). I really had a lot of faith in CECash and it's programs. I feel so incredibly ripped off! CE Cash YOU are the problem, not me. I don't feel like you should make webmasters pay for YOUR problems.

I do Brad, and so far I've seen you do have a reputable program, no problems so far In fact, I'll be sending more traffic your way. I'm actually doing well with your MILF and Fetish sites.

Good to hear, let me know if there is anything I can do for you. CE was good, until Ron sold it. Not sure who is steering the ship these days.

eden69,

We first contacted you on August 25th, about 54 days ago. I see you changed your email address on file with us on September 18th, perhaps you were no longer checking your previous email?

While the ad on google was going great a while back, over time it is not uncommon for ads to lose their staying power or effectiveness. I'd really like to see the ads you were using to see if there is something we can do to improve them and freshedn them up.

The t-shirt / hat giveaway did not have anything to do with your account or the timing of your noticing of the account change. As you can see in my original email to you, we were paying you at the original rate for all previous signups, the change was not retroactive, that wouldn't be fair. As I described in my email to you on August 25th, I told you that you would not see the change until September 16th. This was necessary to ensure that all checks for your previous signups continued to be paid at the original rate.

We don't think it is your fault that the cancellation rate is that high, it is probably an advertisement that needs to be changed or updated to keep up with the ever changing market. You mentioned that your ad has been there since last year. If it's been there since last year and not changed then that is likely the problem, a stale ad. I've managed millions of hits and surfers (and billions of double opt-in emails) and one thing I've learned over time is that no advertisement, no matter how good it is at the beginning, will remain perfect forever. Ads need constant adjustment, change, and finessing.

HomeGrown has one of the best retention rates of all of our sites. They've been in business for decades, and have what I believe is one of, if not the best amateur video site. They are adding new content daily, and keep their site very fresh. I don't think the problem is with HomeGrown, I think it is with attracting the right members to them.

I don't agree that you should feel ripped off. We gave you advance notice almost 2 months ago, and the change was not retroactive. We didn't make you pay for our problems, in fact, we paid for the problem....you got paid for all of those previous signups at the original rate, even though most of them cancelled. I think we were more than fair.

I'd really like to help you with your traffic...and see if we can improve the results. If you are running the same ad as you were last year, then it may be as simple as updating the ad. We also have other programs that convert as well, and pay as well, if not better than Pay It Forward. Our CE Mags program has been converting like crazy, with many webmasters earning $.07 to $.20 per click!

Mike, I've since condensed all urls I've owned into one since I've become a gallery submitter. When I stopped using that domain, I submitted my new email address change to you. I still received email back in August and I never got anything from you guys. I also find it hard to believe the retention for the site could have gone down simply because it's been there for a few months. I could be wrong tho, but considering the number of visitors to google a day, I'd think that would be negligible.

How is this CE's problem the retention from Google doesn't last for you? What is the keywords and description you have on the add?

Is it a good add? Maybe you should change the add and try different wording?

Let the trolling begin....

Never understood how a sponsor can come into a thread like this looking for business.

I'm not sure why the email never got to you, It left here ok and I did not get any bounced notices. Anytime an ad goes unchanged for an extended period period of time you can expect it to only deteriorate slowly over time. Even with the same number of visitors at Google, the Connoisseur of Amateur will look for more descriptive ads that describe the type of site they are looking for and stay away from general-sounding ads that don't really strike a nerverwith them. If you don't want to try the suggestions that I emailed to you let me know, and I will give them a try!

With some more descriptive, specific ads you may find the clicks decrease a little bit, but in the long run you will find it more productive, and more profitable.

Regards,

Mike B

Yes, Ron no longer owns CE. "trade news" does. Personally, I have a hard time sending much traffic to a sponsor when I have no idea who really owns the company.

Excsue me going off topic a bit but it's easier to jump in a thread than start loads of different ones about it...

Fabian - I need to claim 250 bucks + a hat and t-shirt (need something to wear at Internext ) from the 2 mill prize thing. Who's best to contact about it?

Maybe I'm missing something here, but from my understanding this webmaster was promoting Homegrown through Google and his cancellation rates were high, possibly because the advertisement he was using was not that good. But I don't see how this would be his fault, he sent traffic to CE through an advertisement (which may not have been very effective) and those surfers went through the CE tour and bought but then cancelled. The surfers still went through your tour so there is nothing misleading about this in my opinion.

If the advertisement was not very targetted or stale, then this should show in the conversion ratios, but it still seems that they bought into the tour and made a legitimate purchase so why would this webmaster be held accountable for low retentions?

Like I said, maybe I missed something here but it seems that the webmaster did nothing wrong to me.

Wiredguy, I guess it is nobodys fault - but the ad being used wasn't targeting the Amateur niche well and the traffic was going to an excellent Amateur site. When the ad isn't targeted well, it can still get sales and not keep members.

Many of these members were cancelling before the trial was over. They weren't finding what they were looking for.

What eden69 didn't tell you is that she is going to try the new ads I suggested at $25 per signup guaranteed and see if they perform any better. I suspect they will. And I'm putting our money on it

But if they're coming to Homegrown's site from amateur related keywords (as eden said originally), then I think it's up to the tour at that point to sell it. To me, the advertisement is just a means to deliver a surfer to a paysite, the sale is done by the tour.

That's my thoughts on it at least...

Either way, it sounds like eden and you have resolved the matter so I hope it works out
