Server Purchase
I am in need of a server that has hot- or cold-swappable IDE, with a RAID controller preferrable. The mobo doesn't have to be too beefy a p4 1+ ghz range is fine, single processor, with 1 gig of RAM. It should be a 3-4u rack mountable with space for at least 4 3.5" drives (can put sliders on in 5.25" brackets if neccessary) preferrably 5+. I will be running UNIX (FreeBSD) on it so a company that can do the install prior to shipping it out would be nice. No floppy drive needed, though a DVD-ROM or DVD-R/RW drive would be preferred. 2 10/100 NIC cards and a PCI riser if necessary. All video/sound/USB etc can be onboard.

These guys kick ass. Awesome quality and cheaper than most. They specialise in Linux boxes and will ship with the OS pre-configured. Check out the Relion 230. Comes in hot and cold swap IDE. Dave |
