Smells Like Teen Spirit has to be number one.

Is there a song that was bigger in the 90's?

As far as the 90's went, it was a pretty bleak time for music.

she was big:

Oh baby, baby
How was I supposed to know
That something wasn't right here
Oh baby, baby
I shouldn't have let you go
And now you're out of sight, yeah
Show me how want it to be
Tell me baby 'cause I need to know now, oh because

Chorus:
My loneliness is killing me
I must confess I still believe
When I'm not with you I lose my mind
Give me a sign
Hit me baby one more time

Oh baby, baby
The reason I breathe is you
Boy you got me blinded
Oh pretty baby
There's nothing that I wouldn't do
It's not the way I planned it
Show me how you want it to be
Tell me baby 'cause I need to know now, oh because

Chorus:
My loneliness is killing me
I must confess I still believe
When I'm not with you I lose my mind
Give me a sign
Hit me baby one more time

Oh baby, baby how was I supposed to know
Oh pretty baby, I shouldn't have let you go
I must confess, that my loneliness is killing me now
Don't you know I still believe
That you will be here
And give me a sign
Hit me baby one more time

Chorus:
My loneliness is killing me
I must confess I still believe
When I'm not with you I lose my mind
Give me a sign
Hit me baby one more time

This is purely my guesses for popularity, not my personal tastes necessarily...

1) Smells Like Teen Spirit - I'll have to say that song is what changed popular music in the early 90's, making all the hair band glam rockers rethink their game or take up painting houses for a living.

2) November Rain - Huge song at the time, and is still played fairly often today on popular rock stations.

3) I Will Always Love You - That godaweful Whitney Houston tune was in major play in the 90's. Still makes me cringe today.

4) Enter Sandman - I remember this was very huge when it came out, and seemed to turn Metallica into a mainstream pop/metal act.

5) My Heart Will Go On - Celine Dion should be shot dead. My god, what an overplayed, over-rated song.

I can't think of more now, but those 5 seemed to get the most airplay in the 90's. Some are really the worst songs ever made in my opinion ( minus Nirvana ), but there you go.

Eye of The Tiger... All the way

Soundtrack : rocky III
Risin' up, back on the street
Took my time, took my chances
Went the distance
Now I'm back on my feet
Just a man and his will to survive

So many times, it happened too fast
You trade your passion for glory
Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive

* It's the eye of the tiger
It's the thrill of the fight
Risin' up to the challenge
Of our rival
And the last known survivor
Stalks his prey in the night
And his fortune must always be
Eye of the tiger

Face to face, out in the heat
Hangin' tough, stayin' hungry
They stack the odds
Still we take to the street
Fot the kill with the skill to survive
(Repeat *)

Risin' up straight to the top
Had the guts, got the glory
Went the distance
Now I'm not gonna stop
Just a man and his will to survive
(Repeat *)

The eye of the tiger

Even though i like eye of the Tiger, i have to go with this guy. Seattle had the best music of the 90's. I wish we were still churning up great music like we were then.

I will always love you!

Anyway, that's the only song mentioned by your guys that I've ever heard. I am from a foreign country, which means, that's a popular song; unless other songs are all politically incorrect.

2. Losing My Religion - R.E.M.
3. Personal Jesus - Depeche Mode
4. Come As You Are - Nirvana
5. Nancy Boy - Placebo

Yeah, but I had to find ones that were 90's. I am huge Cure and DM fan..I've been re-listening to their back catalogs a lot lately. I think I have decided that my favorite DM song is Blasphemous Rumours .

If The Cure is touring I am going to be there.
