by redirecting do you mean redirecting traffic from a high PR site to another site or is there another redirection that is being penalized?

Redirection of the surfer or bot has long been cause for penalization from the Engines and Directories.

Personally I think its better to build a site and get it to a Pr4 which is easy and then use this Pr to deep link your other domains. Keep away from really competive keywords and use the mulitude of Pr3 internal pages you can make for your terms,
if your redirecting SE traffic then I would be very very careful at present cos there on your/my ass for it.

ok, i understand about redirection being penalized by the SEs, but in the context of this post is that what is being said?

i'm not trying to be obtuse, just trying to understand what is being said in this post.

thanks

kill this spam technique at some stage in the not too distant
future, or am I missing something?

And forgive my ignorance, but was the "big bust"?

That came just after googleguys post when nearly all domains that had had a previous life within the last 2 years were penalised and lost all their pr regardless of whether they had new links or not.It was about April and May and this will happen again I have no doubt but hopelly not so blunt .
In June pr4 was considered great but now its common for pr7 and 8 adult domains.

We have an exclusive 20 min interview with Matt Cutts of Google and we discuss this very topic.

We love being on the cutting edge as much as possible. So we'll be bringing you this interview on RainMaker in the next few weeks.

The adult industry is usually ahead of webmasterworld and they in fact learn from what the porn kings are doing

That was before my time but I reckon that could be a go again when Google drop their bundle on all the expired domains again.
Might apply to be an editor.

not true in SEO. The toughest keywords are non adult (travel, pharmacy etc.). Pushing some niched porn keyword is easy as hell compared to that.

I tend to agree...some pharmaceutical and gaming terms have been as competitive as any porn term!

Yes but the techniques used to spam google are usually done on adult sites first. For example log spamming, expired domains, guestbook spamming, cloaking expired domains and now subdomains.
The WW guys are picking up on that.

i've seen sophisticated spamming techniques on gaming sites that haven't come to adult yet.

Not everyone has the time to sort through the pile of shit posted at ww, just like not everyone has the time to sort through the pile of shit posted here. In addition to that, you need to have a certain level of experience already, in order to recognize what can be used as good advice and what's pure shit, coming from people who try to lead you in the wrong direction, for whatever reasons.
