So what is the nice way to tell a sponsor to stop shaving you?

ie, a sponsor using tact will say they will stop shaving you by sending emails like this;

"We redid our click tracking backend and are paying on exits across all our sites. Please try us again".

I'm told I need to work on my tact... my inclination is to sling shit and this is usually the only way things get permanently "fixed".

Anyone good at writing tactful shaving emails?

Tell them politely that you have reported them to the Gillette legal department for using their products on porn sites

Well, whether they're shaving you or not, the issue is that the site(s) just is not converting the way it did or the way it should. So switch it out to another sponsor and send a nice letter saying that you like their sites but for some reason your traffic just won't convert on it anymore and you're going to be testing some other programs for a while. And then if they reply and say "We redid our click tracking backend ...." then maybe it worked ;)

Chose sponsers that don't shave -
This way, you spend less time writing about shaving - Less time worrying about shaving, and more time marketing -
Which means you make more cash.

Well this is the crazy part. I've had a real fucked up fetish site going for 3 years with no real $$$$$ paysite sponsor but I have 1st place in the search engines and an asspile of quality traffic.

This PPS sponsor just put out a new site matched to my traffic (no other competing paysites in this area).

So I gradually start sending test traffic from various spots on the site. First 1500 hits I send go 1:50. So I send some more traffic and I'm guessing they started shitting themselves or something because the stats have been sitting dry at 0:2000.

I'd say thats a little suspect for an "in-house PPS sponsor".

This being the only sponsor in the game, I need to send some motivational email so I can still make some cash off my otherwise useless traffic (and they know they have no competitors).

ps- sponsor doesn't advertise here, or are in anyone's sig or have any reps posting.. otherwise i'd be gladly slinging shit and screenshots with them.

Well, there are about 50 AVS sites by the same idiot with content that is like 3-5 years old and the same regurgitated 1000 images.

Let's say this is the first paysite sponsor with unique, easily sellable content.

I'd also call it an extreme fetish.. not a "niche"

I am like you suckitbitch.I sling shit first and ask questions later.
Just lately I tried a different tact and wrote or rung a couple of sponsors asking what I could do to improve my conversion rate.
They both had a look at my sites and said they thought I was doing everything right but they feel conversions from search engine traffic is getting harder.
My conversions have sinced dropped another 25%.
I SHOULDA SLUNG SHIT.

This is what i have found over the last 5 or so years in this business. Conversions from sponsors who pay for free memberships or $45 ( example only ) per trial are always way lower than sponsors who pay via a partnership or affiliate program( for the life of the member). Sites we promote seem to have members who stay longer so our recurring income is substantial and keeps us going during the slow summer months. We did a comparison about a year ago and found that the actual income we got from affiliate ( payment for the life of the member ) compared to pay per sign up was about 30% more for the same amount and type of traffic. So for us its a no brainer we stick with affiliate sponsors only. This is obviously only our experience and others will most likely have a different story , but we have noticed that its much harder to make sales and ratios of hits to members seems to be going up, i feel this is in part due to the proliferation of vast amounts of free content and the explosive number of small websites coming onto the web.

I'd love 50/50 because I know the members I send will stay as long as they keep updating the site.

99% of the other sites i promote are of the ibill/ccbill 50/50 variety. I can't really see a reason to give anyone doing "in house" tracking the benefit of the doubt when it comes to these kind of swings in stats.

The word "Tact" is not in my vocabulary. I tell it like it is and fuck you if you don't like it.

If somebody has fucked you then take your traffic elsewhere.

Once again...Fuck tact. Write them an email and tell it straight. They are the ones who are fucking you. Why in the hell should you play nice with a person who is stealing from you?

Fuck me and I'll fuck you back.

An eye for an eye and all that shit.

Do you have enough traffic to make it worthwhile to start your own paysite, or would it be too difficult to obtain content..? Maybe you need to find someone else who can compete with this sponsor.

um.. you'll always see a drop off in signups after an initial rush, your traffic source gets stale.. it's not like you have 100% turnover every month, especially in a niche.

Rotate your sponsors..

Fresh sites and fresh looks do better..

Most of the shaving is being taken care of by the processors really making it a lot more difficult to get transaactions thru..

get used to it..

How many countries can actually signup now? think about it!
