1> The email collector should be much larger, and above all the other links at the bottom.

2> There is some dead space on the front page and the join page. Some good text would work there. List features of your site and show more pics of yourself in different outfits and hightlighting different parts of you: eyes, legs, behind...

3> Most single model sites don't have enough video content. They make up for it with weekly webcams, but a video sample and some text would help address surfer concerns that you only have a dozen series pics and a bunch of 'friends' pics.

4> Personally address the surfer. He joins because he is your fan. You appear to take an active part in your site. surfers value that. Let it show.

5> pop a console on exit. (I have a popup blocker, so I can't tell if you are doing this already.)

oh... and happy Birthday!

Thanks Penthouse Mike....great advice! I am defnitely going to add the video invite back up there:thumbsup

sorry to be the bringer of bad news, but the composition of that site is horrible. There are so many things wrong with it, I don't even know where to begin.... but let's try

1. It doesn't entice me to do anything except close the window. Without that, nothing else listed below matters, because no one will get that far.

2. Would definately check into the legality of using Playboy's gear. And if you do have the okay, I'm sure it probably doesn't include the mangled display of their emblem.

3. the code is sloppy and your exits don't work.

4. the site warning down at the bottom (that is copied directly from adult.com sites btw... ) is missing the 18 U.S.C. 2257 statement

5. the graphic work... the cutouts, the comp, the text work, the navigation, all of it... is just completely lacking any semblance of what would be considered "good" work.

6. the images in the thumbs on the tour pages are positively atrocious.

My recommendation is, start completely over.

Thanks for your honesty Amp. Hopefully your post will get us going in the right direction. If you know of anyone who can design a gorgeous, converting tour, I am open to recommendations!:)

EvilDan 10-13-2003 02:02 AM

1) Your tour looks great

2) The versign link didnt pop up on your join page for me for some reason???

3) You have AMEX on your billing system, and that worries me a little - AMEX doesnt accept porn last time I looked

4) YOu shoud offer a customer support link on your front page and join page

5) I live overseas, so on your webmaster page, make the video load after everything else has loaded - it made your page load very slowly

6) and when the codec did installl, it wouldnt play properly. You must consider overseas webmasters - so let them download the movie instead of streaming it (IMO)

Hope that helped

Evil Dan

bad cutout on the first page... didn't go any further. as a graphic designer, yeah... i'd ask for them to spend more time on it or get my money back

i don't really recommend designers anymore... there are alot of really good ones, and I've chosen not to favor any of them in particular over another. Someone always ends up getting pissed off at me. :winkwink:

and I just wanna say, I'm not knocking the model on that site, she truly is beautiful. But in a nutshell, I think if the strategy is a "Playmate" model's site, the tactics need to be representative of the style that Playboy projects... the rough cuts and everything I mentioned above may work for other styles, but it's not favorable to this style. All the compliments from everyone in threads like this are nice, but in the end the only thing that ever truly matters is conversion.

Victor-E 10-13-2003 02:33 AM

It's not a bad start but it looks more like a rough layout BEFORE a final design. Here is what I would do first:

-If you are going to use cut out photos, make sure the outline is smooth and flawless. If your graphic artist is too lazy to spend the extra time manually cuting the outline, take some photos against a blue screen and have him do an auto crop in the computer. Avoid pics that cut off your hair on the side (page 2) I also think a subtle touch of lens flare on the photos/graphics would greatly improve the look. Don't let the photos "float" around the site. Anchor them to a graphic base.

-You have three pages of tour with about 4-5 links that appear to take you to a sample section but it goes to a sign up page instead. That's a dirty trick and big turn off. Place a nice, visible join button on each page and link the rest of the graphics to either the next tour page or sample pages.

You are very beautiful and the design of the site must reflect that.

Good luck:)

Neriah,

It is no disrespect to your current designer, but I do agree you should start again. Take a look at the portfolios and prices of the designers below.
The added expense is worth it in better conversion rates.

I agree.

Neriah this is good advice, while AMP is not the best designer out there, he is very good and getting better and he definitely knows his stuff. I am really impressed he would take the time to give you some pointers ! :thumbsup

Thanks Mike!

Neriah: We'd be happy to rebuild your tour, check out our portfolio: http://www.bluedesignstudios.com and send me an email if you like what you see :)

Neriah Davis 10-13-2003 03:27 AM

Okay, I appreciate your candor!
This is my 4th tour this year...struggling with it....I will probably be in touch with some of you very soon.
Like I said, I do appreciate your honest advice. That is the only way to get a better product out there and make us all more $$!!:)

I was thinking the same thing. Who the fuck does he think he is offering advice? BWAHAHAHAHAHAAAA. Maybe if he pulled his head out of his ass long enough, he might be able to learn a few things about design.

EZRhino 10-13-2003 11:53 AM

Looks nice just needs better design and better flow.

Hank_Heartland 10-13-2003 03:13 PM

I have to agree with AMP on this one...Too much to fix start over with one of the recommended design firms:thumbsup

Gday all

I think some of you are being waaaaay to critical of this tour IMO.

I have over 450 front ends, and some of the most bullshit damn awful ones convert like the bejesus

And with sites we spent days in developing, conversion suck like a 2 bit whore

The question is "how can you get more traffic across your site, and worry less about the design aspects".

Too many people these days get hung up on design, and never get their product out there

One of the biggest names in the industry tought me that lesson, when I spent tens of thousands of $$$ and months of work designing Adults.com. At the end of the day, all that mattered was traffic, and not the design.

Another good lesson is Sex.com

Sex.com is a mighty site on a mighty URL designed to do mighty things. But people keep telling me it made more money when it was a banner farm under Cohens skullduggery

Concentrate on what you do best. Get webmasters to see you have the right product, and get them to give you their traffic. Turn on your charms babe ;-)

An old lesson from an old dog downunder

PS - Hank old mate, I cant wait to have a Jack Daniels or 15 with ya in Vancouver next week :drinkup

throwing more traffic at something that's broken is not a solution. It's a bandaid. Neither does "turning on the charm" and seducing webmasters to push it take the place of good form.
She asked for a critique and she got it. "Bullshit awful" tours (as you put it) have their place, but a Playmate's site is not it. Certain things need to be presented in certain ways. You wouldn't advertise the Sunday Monster Truck Rally in the style of a feminine hygiene product spot and then argue that it just needs more viewers to be successful would you? Of course not.

Amp, I have to agree with you...I only want to really promote this once it is done right. I want to feel proud of my product.
I don't want to blow my chance with the webmaster's traffic. This new tour is actually converting way better than the last, but it's still not enough! What do you think about a contest here? Some cash, sweet prizes, etc. I know you won't refer me to anyone, but what do you think about that idea?

Cheap shot. Our sites are all designed by the leading designers in the business. I guess there are still people who like porn star content, look at vivid.

I'm sorry - but I have a hard time believing you're really Neriah Davis.

I think that if you are indeed Neriah you should post a pic of yourself proving such - holding a piece of paper with a marker that says 'GFY' on it or 'fuck you sleazydream'

I'm not talking nude or anything nauthty, just something to prove you are indeed who you say you are.

otherwise you're just some jackassed lame assed webmaster with a licence to promote Neriah's pics fucking with everyone here on GFY.

untill you post proof, as far as I'm concerned you're a FAKER.

If I met you in real life I'd be speachless and probably have a panic attack, nice work :thumbsup
