At least when school kids or cancer survivors plan on doing something crazy, they collect pledges to donate to charity. I remember doing the weekend fast in high school and the jump rope for Heart thing in elementary school, not to mention the Terry Fox Run, etc etc.

Great Point, if he was doing it for charity, say 1 million a day to ? then I think alot of people would be behind him, instead he just looks like a loser.

i agree, the irony is that near to where he is doing the stunt in london, loads of homeless people live in cardboard boxes without food, but not through choice, the area is called cardboard city. if he had raised money for the homeless or some other charity it might have meant something. as it is it's a bore and has little support in this country at least.

I am really wondering how he is doing it though. Afterall, he is a magician. There is a trick to it. Putting nutrisions in the water might be one way, but I doubt that is not controlled, is it?

Don't forget. If you would sit somewhere, doing nothing, and not eating for 30 days, just drinking, you would:

a) not have any muscle-mass (sp?) left
b) most of your fat reserves are burned out too (muscles are burned first though)
c) your organs are on the dinner plate next.

I did not see that, but I know that plenty of people claim that Blane is actually not INSIDE that glass box, that its all fake.

Heck, you see people like Copperfield letting people disappear infront of your eyes, why not figure out a way to project someone into that box.

they showed one trick
big ass truck was paked, there was a fence around it.
fence was covered with cloth.
there were people with standing around the fence holding the hands.
Magician going inside, cloth covers the fence that you can't see shit, coupe of minutes later cloth goes down, magician is there, but not truck.

well what they did is.
all people that came signed a contract that they will not disclose shit to public.
so what they do is on one end people move away, they open the fence, drive the truck aways, close the fence, people start to hold hands together.

thats it
no tricks, nothing
just for tv.
when you watch it, you assume it is real cause he is magician, but in fact 5 year old can do it.

He wasn't allowed to bring any food into the box with him, and he's pulled out all the contents of his bag to show he wasn't hiding anything. Unless it's up his ass, he has nothing in there with him. The urinalysis reports show that he is starving.

David Blaine is an amazing person. It takes lots of strength(mind and body) to pull off what he is pulling off. I'd like to see one of you shit talkers try and succeed like I think he will.

I saw Copperfield botch a trick in Daytona Beach in 1994.

Water came out of this "box" he was stabbing with swords, there was this horrific scream and then the curtains closed.

We sat there for 25 minutes before he came out and did an odd "childhood" fly trick then left the stage.

I'll never forget it.

A drunk Magician in a bar levitated for me better than David Blane does it. The one at the very end of his special where he's a foot off the ground is faked for TV, it's not what the people on the street are seeing. They're seeing the ones where he goes one inch or so off the ground, which is easy. Note how he makes sure people are lined up at the right place so they can't see his left toes on the ground. He can't "do anything", by the end of the night I was getting the hang of it myself.
