You have been ranting about what a bad mother she is on this bb for a while. I actually thought you were a stand up father but instead you post that saving money is more important than the welfare of your children.

They IGNORED the tape, the protection order, the contempt of court, EVERYTHING! They wanted to give the child to the mother regardless...family court services already recommended that in their report to the judge...they also recommended that I only get once a week on the phone and every other weekend...Plus the child support was a killer...they said since she now lives with her mother, that she is "getting her life together"...So I was already fighting an uphill battle...

So until YOU show up in court and get reamed even though you're a good father, then you might have a clue what the fuck you're talking about...

It may sound good now, but as soon as one has a new bf/gf the other doesn't like, or she decides she wants money for something that he doesn't think is necessary, etc, then the whole thing will blow up and they'll be at each other's throats again. Court orders spell everything out nice and neat and keep both of them from holding money, time with the kids, or anything else, over each other's heads when things get tense between mommy and daddy. It's sort of like lending money to a family member or friend- you still better have a signed agreement.

For the record- this is not against BVF, or even a mother/father thing. I believe he takes care of his kids. The person(s) who has the kids the most deserves support, weather it's the mother, father, g'parent, relative, or friend.

I'm glad the two of you are getting along again. I know your kids must be happy about it.

i dont know if i agree with you on that. for 9 months out of the year those kids are away from him which means they have to learn him and he has to learn them all over again everytime they see each other. that is tough on kids and god only knows what kind of shit their heads will be filled with. women are very vindictive and i can say that....

Holly, darling, I had straight A's in math. I'm a product of a divorced couple with split custody over 3 children, I know how split custody works. For 12 years I lived with my dad during the school year, during the summer I spent one night a week and 3 weekends of a month with him. My mom had custody in the summer, and during the winter I spent one night a week and 3 weekends of a month with her. My mom usually had custody of us on holidays as well.

It was awarded as split custody, that's how it works. Split custody isn't just 50/50, it can be a variety of equations. It's weird, but that's how it works best to fit in with the school schedule.
