It can cost up to $30 if it is in Downtown, and up to $40 if it is in Old Montreal.

I don't know.............. it is up to Jason !

I doubt it is going to cost less than $20 a person, but you can order a bowl of spaghetti. No one will care.

When we first moved to Montreal, my wife and I took a few "practical french" classes at the YMCA. We ate there pretty much before every class. The pasta is ok, we always found it a little over done. The fondue there is good but I like the fondue at Alpenhaus better.

Queue de Cheval is at the corner of Rene Levesque and Drummond.

What good restaurants are out in the West Island? I've heard 3 Sisters is supposed to be good but we haven't made it there yet. 40 West I've heard mixed reviews on. I can't think of anything else out that way worth mentioning.

I just ate at Hurley's...damn good fish and chips on Fridays...not to mention Jeff is always willing to sit and provide entertainment. One of Montreal's best-kept secrets.

ummmmmm.. well there is one near Dugmor's place. Amoarone. Pretty good food and prices are ok. Just up the steer from him. Like half a block.

There is a few in the east end from y'all.
La Molisana in Ahuntsic. Fleury between christophe-clombe and St-hubert

Elio Pizzareia in Little Italy on beaubien or was it Bellechase.

Anotehr one, forgot the name. On Jarry between Viau and Lacordaire. Next to Italian Cafe with the best subs/salads anytime of the day. Regulr haunt and alays packed after clubs close at 3am.

Few others places but I can't remember their names.

And as for the tre-maria suggestion. It's a good place. But I advise not going on Tripe night. Not only is it busy and reserved ahead of time ofr months, but if you like me and can't stand the smeel. AVOID IT on those nights. I never could get myself to eat that.

La Molisana is also good haven't been in awhile but it was good 'authentic Italian food'

Elio Pizzeria - nothing to write home about - been to their banquet halls but the cooks are the same - it's on Bellechasse

The one on Jarry is probably Milano Bar - great sandwiches but not necessarily a full meal place.
Perhaps it's Gallo Nero - food is good but the waiters are very weird 'Joe Minghios'

Ditto for Tripe Night at Le Tre Marie - yuuuuck!

by the way I just heard about the atempted kidnapping you guys were talking about from thursday,

thats really fucked up,

it was at reverview elementary,

thats the school I went to, that is really disturbing, because its only 10 blocks from were I live now,

you know verdun is bad for this stuff,

fucking assholes are always comming through verdun on bus to go to the douglas hospital,

also the lanes are bad adn tempting,

to many kids play in them,

parents have to build fences with locks, and keep there kids in the yards,

thats my :2 cents:

but I should not talk I spent from 5 years old to 12 in those same lanes,

but this is not the first time kids get taken around here in the last few years,

imJason, I'm sure the food was great and so was the presentation! Did you get a look at the Maitre d' (I'm not sure if he was working) ? Doesn't looking a little like juicylinks (just that the guy wears a toupee & juicy doesn't)?

well Elio's never been to their banquet so can't say

umm.. and it was Gallo Nero I was thinking about. Nice place.. friend of mine (ok friend of my brother) is one of the owners. And no way will I ever mistake Milano's for any restaurant. Like I said, best afterclub place to go eat when ya in the mood. Mostly for locals. Around the area. But very good subs/salads they got. One of the best espresso's in town. Anfd I should know. Have had espresso's all over. It's in my blood.

and what's with the "minghione's" comment. that hurts!!! :(

hehehe I know what ya mean. I can't stand em either though they part of me.

HS-Trixxxia 10-14-2003 01:06 PM

No offense on the Minghiones.....grew up with the worst of them :-)

As for Gallo Nero - we were there for a Baby Shower ....my friend was offered farina - I think he got fired after that.

As for Milano's......it IS the best espresso in town.....no one can compete!
