Acacia doesn't have a patent in Canada?

So Canadian webmasters aren't effected by this?
What if I'm an american but I host my content in canada?

To my understanding Canadians are "indirectly" affected because you need Visa processing.

And Visa will not allow "illegal" sites.
They can not.

I am a Canadian and host my content in the USA.
I host it there - BECAUSE - they have the strictest laws.
And I intend to push a global standard for "sex education".

If I was a "porn" site only ...
BYE BYE USA ..

Compared to any other country in the world.

Name a country that has implemented "generic domain" legislation?

That has an obscenity push?

Give me examples...
Give me links ...

There are many countries where your site would be completely blocked by the government, America is not one of them, so I don't think it qualifies as the strictest in the world.

If it's not already blocked in China and Saudi Arabia, I'm sure it would be if those countries authorities knew it existed.

I get lots of traffic ("relatively") from those countries.
I'm not blocked anywhere.

Is there something you disagree with "in my tour"?

Are you aware that there are countries in this world that oversee every single URL that people in those countries request on the internet?

Saudi Arabia is a deeply religious and conservative country, where pornography in any form is strictly forbidden.

When the government introduced the internet to the country, it set up a central node in the capital Riyadh through which all internet traffic had to pass.

Saudi Arabia filters out material which they would find offensive.

That would certainly include a site called sexeducation.com that has the content that you have.

If they filter out the global standard on what every adult should know about sex - they should not be a country.

Unfortunately, you're the fucking idiot who's too cheap to call a lawyer to get yourself informed, you're too stupid to read and interpret acacia's website, and you still know shit all about the law. What the FUCK do you think you have to contribute to anything? NOTHING.

How about answering the original question and ignoring the two kids shouting in the corner.

I think you'll find that when they have finished with US companies and other countries where they do have a patents they might think about moving onto other countries. Obviously if you are hosting in the US or CC processing there you could be vunerable.

I think the best thing is to put your self behind those who ARE fighting it, avoid those who don't think it's worth it and help make sure Acacia are put down. So that the next suit thinks twice about coming after the porn industry.

But this is just my opinion, for an expert advice ask somewhere else.
