For instance, take a child who was raised with no true knowledge of religion - or only has knowledge of a twisted form of religion not entirely faithful to the bible ( though has no awareness or true interpretation of the Bible's specific laws ).

Would this child be damned?

I believe God is the energy of light and love in the Universe. Our souls are all of a part of and connected to this universal life force.
Therefore God is within each of us and in whole we are God.

We create our own heaven and our own hell by our soul's own actions.

only one thing about religion - notice that each religion has alot of similarities. Even in egypt there are 3 pyramides not ruined still - Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.

Main idea of religion is that people needed a belief which could help them living, and people got the belief in several religions we have now "on the market" =)

However, I've got a major problem with christianity, and i've never had a suitable answer. The problem is two fold

a] Christianity, indeed, modern religion was fostered, indeed 'imperitive' during the medieval times. If you weren't christian, you were dead. Now, the tithes and money making aside, let's break it down.

the systems in power were exceedinly hierachal monarchies, such that the church and the kingdom were undiscernable. The reason? Peasants had a shit life. Kingdoms needed peasants for food and fighting. So why not tell them that if they're good little people and slave away for the kingdom, and die of the plauge, after their shit life, they'll have a nice eternity. If they dont work for the kingdom, they're fucked. Great way to control the masses.

b] Modern christianity wasn;'t founded on christ. Take the lutheran sect for example. It was founded when a priest decided he didn't like the system, so made his own spin off; or, the ultimate fuckoff, the Anglican Church. King Henry the VIIIth couldn't get his marriage annulled, so in order to get a divorce, he makes his own fucking church, where he can marry / divoirce as many times as he wants and still go to heaven.

Finally, the fact that christians condemn ANYONE who is not christian, be they buddist, tao, whatever - plain, good people who live their lives in the present for good and treat others well.

how egotistical is it to assume that a religion based on greed and lust is the right one.

Assuming God exist.. which I do... the question - how would God punish or reward someone who had no knowledge of his/her existance.. wasn't raised with religion, never exposed to religion... here is my take on it..

I think we individually are the only ones who can truly pass judgement on ourselves. So if your a mental midget and you don't know the difference between right and wrong, you can't be held responsible for your actions in your own eyes.. thus God wouldn't punish you for your wrong doings. If you knew what was right and what was wrong and you killed someone and later felt that what you did was wrong.. you have passed judgement on your actions and God would pass the same judgement on you. If you felt that what you had done was the right thing to do then again you have passed judgement on yourself and God will pass the same judgement on you.

I think that we each make our own bed and however we feel out our life is how God would feel about it. I like to think that if God exist that he/she is reasonable and would only hold things against me that we hold against ourselves.

I agree with this. The whole theory was first introduced to me when I was reading Sylvia Browne's books. That is her theory to a T. People might laugh and say the crazy psychic? If I am going to believe in anything, she makes A LOT of sense about the reasons for life and God etc. It's fascinating and logical.

However, I've got a major problem with christianity, and i've never had a suitable answer. The problem is two fold a] Christianity, indeed, modern religion was fostered, indeed 'imperitive' during the medieval times. If you weren't christian, you were dead. Now, the tithes and money making aside, let's break it down. the systems in power were exceedinly hierachal monarchies, such that the church and the kingdom were undiscernable. The reason? Peasants had a shit life. Kingdoms needed peasants for food and fighting. So why not tell them that if they're good little people and slave away for the kingdom, and die of the plauge, after their shit life, they'll have a nice eternity. If they dont work for the kingdom, they're fucked. Great way to control the masses. b] Modern christianity wasn;'t founded on christ. Take the lutheran sect for example. It was founded when a priest decided he didn't like the system, so made his own spin off; or, the ultimate fuckoff, the Anglican Church. King Henry the VIIIth couldn't get his marriage annulled, so in order to get a divorce, he makes his own fucking church, where he can marry / divoirce as many times as he wants and still go to heaven. Finally, the fact that christians condemn ANYONE who is not christian, be they buddist, tao, whatever - plain, good people who live their lives in the present for good and treat others well. how egotistical is it to assume that a religion based on greed and lust is the right one. pfft.

I think we individually are the only ones who can truly pass judgement on ourselves. So if your a mental midget and you don't know the difference between right and wrong, you can't be held responsible for your actions in your own eyes.. thus God wouldn't punish you for your wrong doings. If you knew what was right and what was wrong and you killed someone and later felt that what you did was wrong.. you have passed judgement on your actions and God would pass the same judgement on you. If you felt that what you had done was the right thing to do then again you have passed judgement on yourself and God will pass the same judgement on you. I think that we each make our own bed and however we feel out our life is how God would feel about it. I like to think that if God exist that he/she is reasonable and would only hold things against me that we hold against ourselves. Geeezzz look at me.. I'm living up to my freaking nick getting into this conversation. haha
