Haven't played Battlefield 1942. I don't like WW2 sims.
I'd prefer something modern like Operation Flashpoint It's the best combat simulator out there. The U.S Army uses the Operation Flashpoint game engine for tactical training.
Operation Flashpoint + Multiplayer is one of the most intense gaming experiences you can have.
we usually hold matchs of CS, ET and BF mainly over at Ynotkillzone.com stats are tracked etc..
the reason i know about new GTA is well i used to be a big dog in the gaming industry and lets just say I have ALOT of fucking contacts in that industry still
Had this game since the day it came out, and fell in love with it in demo mode a month before it had been released. The new mods are really awesome, especially desert combat, those guys need to be awarded for the mod they pulled off.
Playing Omaha Beach is an amazing sniper board.

If you think Battlefield 1942 rocks, just wait until Spring 2004, when they release Battlefield Vietnam. Played a demo of it in a NYC tech expo, I was completely blown away. They have 60's tunes blaring at the base camps, full control over the helicopters, gun ships, armored vehichles, napalm dropping jets, it's seriously un-fucking believable. Electronic Arts wins my vote for best games produced.

Well, my nephew wants to get into it, but he's not in a city where that's a big deal so he does'nt have access to a lot of info about it other than the net.
He likes coming up with the storylines and complexities of games, as well as designing.
Do you know of anything I can tell him or show him to set him on a path towards that career goal?
Ya know, I really didn't like Battlefield 1942. I didn't like the game for a couple of reason, mainly the performance, and the realism the game brings. I am a counter-strike fan, I've played counter-strike for 3 years and I have never seen or played a game better. It works on pratically any computer and is still, after 3 or 4 years of play, the funnest game I've played

I'll pass it on, but from looking at it, it looks to encompass design only....
Any knowledge of human-machine interaction or writing? I don't think he's into design as much as plot development and whatnot....although I'm not sure.
