I was a bouncer in several Toronto nightclubs for 12 years, and I would like to say to Naughty Jen, that if your boyfriend thinks that his job is "beating people up for a living", then he is not a bouncer, but merely a fucking PUNK, who happened to get a job at the door of a club!!

Bouncers do not "beat people up for a living". It is attitudes like that that give bouncers a bad rap.

Do you really think that causing bodily harm to somebody (often leaving permanent scars) is FUN ???

A bouncer only uses force as a last resort to show somebody the door. And only enough force to get them out the said door. There is no pride whatsoever in beating up a 170 pound guy, when you are 6'4 and 275 pounds!

I have seen more action than I ever cared to. But the whole 12 years, I was very professional about it, and never once had a punk attitude that my job was "beating people up"
