In the market for at least a 1200 x 2400 dpi scanner. Pls post your recommendations here. Need it to scan drawings and b&w line images only.

You can't go wrong with HP. I'm using 5400c (2400 dpi, 48 bit color)

Any other recommendations? Looking for a fast but high quality output scanner for black & white line art or drawings.

I have a UMAX 2100U which I got a few years ago, never had any problems or complaints against it, used it mostly for scanning black and white, although I think its color scanning could be better, but I think thats because I was using the internal WindowsXP interface to it, instead of the provided software. But definitely check out some UMAX options, reasonably priced, last a long time, and overall very hassle free scanners. imo.

I've had both top and bottom of the line HP scanners and have had no complaints. If you are just going for B&W and line art you can probably get away with a real cheap one and still get great results.

Epson is usually good.. I've had nothing but good experiences with them.

One other consideration I've noticed besides resolution and price is scan speed. Which make and model offers the best speed while having good resolution (for B & W) and is affordable?
