exactly, i purposely dont promote programs who buy sigs, it makes them seem desperate for traffic because their programs suck balls.

I hate to break the news to you dumbass, but sigs produce traffic and cash... It's your loss. Do you even know how much it costs to buy a banner on GFY? It's not chump change.

Don't excuse the fact that you're still on a cheap ass 56K dialup and you can't afford to see what's actually going on here.

well this one guy wanted $2k for a sig space... lol , $100 yes $2k no..

A proper banner on GFY only costs about that and people actually take some notice at least of them banners...

Don't let me knock it if people are stupid enough to buy your sign Fly then go for it... but the return for them will be pitiful.

I think its all about maximizing an ad spot on gfy.

You buy the top spot and thus get the priviledge of allowing your affiliates to have a large banner in their sig. Which is quite valuable, if you think no ones clicking those...think again.

Most sponsors buy sig space in one form or another anyway, its called webmaster referral bonuses.

Any decent ad campaign should seek saturation of a given target market. If GFY is your target market, is buying sig space all that "moronic", given the goal?

You got stats to prove the opposite? I think its all in the program, some have it some don't. I click sigs...when swoit came out I got there through a sig...I didn't sign up because I didn't like the idea...Same with mensniche...I went there through your sig.

My point is this, if your goal is to cover gfy with banners...then you need to get to the sig. If you want to get to the sig you need to, besides buy the top spot, offer compensation for it.

While some figures may be a bit high, given a specific goal its not a bad idea. And to say someone is a moron for buying sig space is saying you can't see the value saturating GFY with your ad, I know you have trouble seeing a good idea sometimes but I think you might be a bit off on this one...

if its sold for a reasonable price then yes its fine but $2k or so for a sig space is just fucking stupid...

Makes u wonder why these people buying the sigs only do so for one month or so because it does fuck all to increase their sales.

give me stats to prove

that sigs lead to signups and then webmsaters making signups... i don't think u can.

arent you the one with the low budget get rich quick page when u barely squeeze by to pay rent guy?

the only funny thing i find here is that someone would actually pay you to put a banner in your sig when you barely have the html skills to create frames.

and its around $3k per month for a banner spot, one spot which you will never be able to afford unless one of your "family" members upgrades u from status of donkey.

Sigs for $2000? I think maybe you got caught up in the GFY Twilight Zone... There's a lot of fiction on GFY -- tales of $2000 sigs : mostly B.S. for the sake of entertainment, confusion, and to impress the newbies. I'm sure we will get to the $2000/sig level eventually, as I don't see this business going anywhere anytime soon... Maybe it's just me, but a personal endorsement seems 100x more valuable than a banner at the top of GFY, especially these days when there are so many dishonest people looking for affiliates...

I would think that most of the time dishonest people don't mind being dishonest, called dishonest, or regarded as such so either enjoy that bit of wisdom or wear the insult like a crown of thorns.

You focus on the extreme's which is fine, I think we both know the outcome of that one...but I also see others taking a more refined and conservative approach and I think that its doing well for them.

And as far as proving that sigs lead to affiliates, if you don't think that they can gain you affiliates then you're too far gone to try and sway, although I do have ap affiliates that will tell you otherwise.

And also, I don't think you can show me stats that prove otherwise. You've never tried, so I know exactly what you can show me...nothing.

I hope you're not seeing my posts in this thread as a continuation of earlier conflicts, because thats not the intent...my intent is to voice my opinion and EXPERIENCE, that sigs can produce affiliates. And additionally that writing off the whole strategy or medium as a moronic waste of money, is a bad idea.

That's all.

Take it for what you will.

of course sigs will get affiliates but will they get affiliates from say The Fly who sells to the highest bidder? Why would I take his word that the banner flying below is the best site to promote etc..

im not writing off buying sigs just I am arguing about the amount paid for them $100 a mnth fine.

Feel free to ask me if I would endorse XYZ program and I'll give you my honest answer. There aren't too many programs I would accept money from.

My decision to go with Lars, since you have made it an issue... And I have already said this in other threads.

1. I like the concept of Streamray. I have tried Tricams (Sextracker) and other cam programs and I didn't make sales. It's a well known fact that iFriends is very profitable but they do not always pay. Streamray IS the best cam program affiliate out there!

2. Lars has always paid me on time.

3. I respect SleazyDream as a person and as a Canadian When someone I respect recommends doing business with someone like Lars, I trust him too. An endorsement comes down to mostly trust and the quality of the product. I've met SleazyDream many times in person -- I've had dinner in Vegas with his personal friends/business partners and I was impressed with the company he keeps... I trust SleazyDream and I can say that about very few people in this business (and yes I meet these people in person), so when he says Lars is cool -- I believe him. To be honest I have not met Lars yet though I've had the opportunity -- back then I was not that interested in cam sites, but now I am really more aware of the potential of these sites -- besides they are fun.

4. Streamray has the most advanced technology being their chat. As Lars has said on GFY -- they have a custom codec for their chat interface! Look at it yourself -- it's all custom code! There's some generic chat program out there called Firecracker or some shit -- Streamray doesn't use that shit... Also Streamray has some pretty cool and innovative marketing tools -- I have fun playing with the girls in the ads myself for free!

5. Streamray has excellent retention -- the rebills last a while.

So as you can see I have made an informed decision -- I have researched the competition in depth on the levels of marketing, technology, and the honesty of the people behind the program -- so don't talk shit about me when you have no fucking clue who you are dealing with.

Has anyone else purchased as much advertising as Lars on GFY? I'd say, no. Forget the huge cam-girl parties that Lars has thrown in Vegas -- it's a good product and I've said that before I even had Lars in my sig and I'll keep saying it until I'm proven wrong...

Anyhow, I don't care if Lars buys my sig again -- there are other products that I'm interested in promoting if Lars is no longer interested in my sig.

Thanks for the kind words, I am not buying any new sigs this month. However I will say That I have paid $2000 for a sig But I got more than just the sig outta the deal. I will also say that the campaign I did in august was some of the best branding I have ever done. Anyone who did not know of me before that at least knows my name due to the campaign, and that is very important in this biz ! I will be doing another hige sig Buying campaign at some point in the future, and have most of the details planned out I think it will cause quite a stir
