Presidential Contender Gen. Clark Believes In Time Travel

Just a few paragraphs from the story.

http://www.wired.com/news/politics/0,1283,60629,00.html
"We need a vision of how we're going to move humanity ahead, and
then we need to harness science to do it," Clark told a group of about
50 people in Newcastle attending a house party -- a tradition in New
Hampshire presidential politics that enables well-connected voters to
get an up-close look at candidates.

Then, the 58-year-old Arkansas native, who retired from the military
three years ago, dropped something of a bombshell on the gathering.

"I still believe in e=mc˛, but I can't believe that in all of human history,
we'll never ever be able to go beyond the speed of light to reach where
we want to go," said Clark. "I happen to believe that mankind can do it."

"I've argued with physicists about it, I've argued with best friends about it.

I just have to believe it. It's my only faith-based initiative." Clark's comment
prompted laughter and applause from the gathering.

Gary Melnick, a senior astrophysicist at the
Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, said Clark's faith in the
possibility of time travel was "probably based more on his imagination
than on physics."

While Clark's belief may stem from his knowledge of sophisticated military
projects, there's no evidence to suggest that humans can exceed the speed
of light, said Melnick. In fact, considerable evidence posits that time travel is
impossible, he said.

hmm, you guys haven't read up much on quantum physics.
There is math that supports time travel, and faster than light travel.

In fact, protons have been documented moving instantaneously from one spot to another, and being in two places at one time.

Maybe he knows something that we don?t?.

I would take a president that believed in the "possibility" of time travel over a president that "actually" believes in creationism any day.

I have a time machine.

I disguise it to look like a cardboard box with crayon knobs so no one will steal it.
I use it to play poker with Jesus.

i happen to know for a fact that time travel is possible. i do it frequently.

just drink a little too much and BOOM.. you wake up somewhere else and in your mind it was instantaneous!

ROFLMAO!!! I had a list of 'scientifically impossibilities' that turned out to be fact. I don't have it on me but here are some:

The world is flat ( you got that one)

The world is the center of the universe and everything revolves around it.

Man will never achieve flight.

Man will never harness the atom.

There is no such thing as a giant hairy ape in the african forests ( gorilla discovered in 1902-04 )

Man cannot travel faster than a horse.

We cannot break the sound barrier.

Man cannot travel in outer space.

Man will never reach the moon.

Damaged brain tissue does not grow back.

yadda yadda yadda.

Well shut mah mouth! That's a point rare few people ever notice.

It's scary and a sensitive issue but it's TRUE.

We have people in high positions of power who debunk and snicker at any unconventional science and then rush off to their various churches where they entertain the concepts of angels and devils and ghosts...

Sorta like a witchdoctor complaining that a folcrum and lever are not scientific but he'll consult the ancestor's bones for a more legitimate opinion.

The concept of time travel is a scientifically based theory that COULD potentitally one day be a reality. What is that a problem?

Time is a like a straight line that doesn't begin and doesn't end. The only reason we fragment and measure it is so that our puny little minds can grasp it. That doesn't mean there's actually any relevant barriers, aside from the means and our own lack of technological advancements thusfar that would actually nullify this fact and render time travel impossible.

He's a forward thinker.

Time Travel is possible.
Simple scientific proof is available.
I'll post the evidence tomorrow.

i personally dont see how one could go back in time. Making time stand still or go real slow is more doable I think.

I agree 100% If anything something like this lets me know clark has an open mind and isn't stuck in the stone age.
