Hi Max!
we met at one of the shows about 3 years ago. You ran off with my digital cam corder for the night and I was too pissed to find you!:1orglaugh :1orglaugh You had a girl with you that was a personal helper but had done one soft set. I have been diving since 1983, mostly in the UK where the vis is at best 10 metres but there are plenty of great wrecks in the English channel thanks to our Geram friend in their subs. We often dive virgin wrecks and I have a garage full of portholes, lumps of brass and a couple of bells!:thumbsup Been diving on the barrier reef, on a liveaboard in the Red SEa, (spectacular on the thislegorm) Malta, Cyprus, Gozo, Scotland's west coast (stunning, cliffs, 20-30 metres vis, top notch, cold) All this tourist diving though is a bit follow the leader, and I prefer to go out on a wreck in 40-50 metres and explore where no man has been before. Certainly gets the adrenalin going!:thumbsup |
Best places in the world to dive: Cozumel (MEX), been there twice, just love it....
Fernando de Noronha (here in Brazil): the best time of the year to dive here is July (visibility 30+ meters), lots of turtles, dolphins, whales, reefs, sharks and all kind of fish, you guys should really visit it some time... |
I am and I love it. I got into diving in college and liked it so much that I ended up working at the dive shop the whole four years and went through my assistant instructor and SLAM stuff with them. I've never been to Thailand, but we used to take customers and students down to the Keys and all over the Caribbean and it was always good diving. I love the Keys and Honduras is absolutely breathtaking. We also used to do weekend trips to Ginnie Springs and Vortex Spring in N. Florida. I watched two guys get pulled out of there who had gotten turned around, ended up back at the grate and then run out of air. It was horrible. I never enjoyed cave diving after that. :(
Those are great pics, btw. :thumbsup |
:( absolutely amazing... terrific & fantastic *slowly claps hands* i congradulate you on suceeding in something wonderful i've never had the chance to experiance... I'm very proud and happy! Maxcandy... You always bring out the sunshine in me! :thumbsup

Really nice pics! post more of them!
The whale shark pic is really cool! Regards Renzo |
I just went diving for the first time about 2 weeks ago in the Dominican Republic. It was really pretty but hurricane Isabell was off the coast so the pull was really strong. I got banged up aganist the coral a few times. I can't wait to go again. I'll probably go while we are in the Keys for Fantasy Fest. If anyone is going down for that maybe we should all schedule an afternoon to go diving.

Any other cave divers on the board ?
We leave the shallow warm water & great viz for the pussys. Try diving this: # diving with 200 feet of solid rock over your head [ up doesn't =out] # dive twins + pony # mix gas / nitrox var # in water med. oxygen deco # max. bottom time = 2mins. [ you suck an 88 dry in 4 mins. at 200 ft if your normal breathing rate is 20lt/min at 1 bar ] # 40 mt. shottie in the middle of the lake with the deco. tanks, a bottle @ 40 mt, another at 25 mts + the med. o2 @ 6mt. # dive 9mm wetties so you don't freeze [ water temp=2 degrees] Anyone for a paddle ? |
