or any other anti-depressant / mood changing drugs?

My family thinks I need anger management therapy of sorts. Not just them, I think it too. When I get mad I go crazy, I get all this insane amounts of energy and the only release of it is to yell and shout and destroy inanimate objects around me. Im not like this all the time, its just a self control issue when I get *really* upset, which is usually around friends or family that know how to push my buttons, on purpose. Oh yea, being depressed doesnt help either

So honestly, who has been under medication / therapy for mood related issues, what kind of meds (if any), and how has it worked for you?

lol, ok, i didnt think so many of you would come out and admit to taking prozac... so lemme change the topic title AND now ask: do you know any1 who has had mood changing related medications, and how has it helped them?

i use prozac... it works great. but i dont know any more about it.

I only use it.

How old are you?

I used to be exactly like you in my late teens / early twenties. But now that I'm 25 I'm alot more chilled out than before and I dont get mad and lose control as easily as I used to. I still lose it sometimes but very rarely, a few times a year compared to once a week when I was younger. So you might grow out of it like I did.

But I reccomend you seek some help in case, you never know what kind of damage you can cause when you lose control.

Just go to your doctor and ask him for advice, tell him to reccomend something that doesn't involve drugs. I've head that anti-depressants do more harm than good.

im 25 actually.

Im way more stable then I was in my teens... I cant even begin to say... I dont have arguments with family members now like I used to when I was 15... but more or less I react the same way when i think im 'right'. I just get this surge of adrenaline I cant control. Well, I can control it to the point that I have never went around beating any1 up or grabbing any gun... for me its always been a lot of shouting and destroying objects. i seem to have a penchant for destroying phones.
