what the fuck is happening here

pc fine this morning, rebooted just and now all sorts of shit going on...

loadsa icons on desktop and in start menu looking like this



system (XP) very unstable, anti virus wont initialise...

in task manager i have what looks like far too many instances of

svchost.exe

really hope someone can help here, looks like some sort of virus but i dont know what the fuck...

someone help please!

check whats starting up and remove anything that looks fishy
then go into autoexec and look for things on the run= line
and tell me whatss there

and then clean your registry ... if that doesnt work .. go back in your registry ....

I get this error when trying to start my anti virus

driver(CORE) not found winerr=2

How do i get into my autoexec please?

ok got 5 instances of

svchost.exe going on in task manager.

when i end them, they start up again.

edit : every time i look at a thread on gfy, or post a reply, I get this message

At the taskbar, right-click Start and select Explore. Search for Autoexec.bat in the root of the C: drive and open it in Notepad

your invected with a worm.......open msconfig and untick anything that doesnt look normal then reboot and load antivirus and scan away the can of worms in ya system

i was just doing some reading.....

alot of people have had this problem IF they installed an Icon pack in the past or recently

update, thanks for all your help guys...

had some nasty data miner that ad aware has just got rid of.

system seems a lot more stable now BUT

anti virus still wont start and icons still look like in first post.

a little worried here
