Agree on most points. I, like most people, have the belief that "my child knows better". She does not go anywhere near my closet without permission. Many children though will do things they know to be wrong when parents are not around. Therefore, my child is not left unsupervised, so she doesn't have the opportunity to make that mistake.

I also agree on the point about a round in the chamber....my gun doesn't have one in the chamber, and my child is not physically strong enough to pull the slide back.

my entire childhood was based on doing things my parents told me not too. lol. that's why they gotta know, but they also need not be given the opprotunity.

and shit some of my 25 year old female friends are strong enough to load my .acp

well got a right to own a gun. As it says in their consitution. BUT!! To sum it all up, onl Homer Simpson ever gave the best reason for having a gun. "Do YOU want the King of England to com and take you land back??" Or something along the ways.

Anyone know the exact wording?!?!? And seriously.. am I the only one that thinks Homer always gives a good reason for everything?? :helpme

Guns dont kill people - Bullets do.

But in all seriousness, those parents should never be allowed to have another kid and the one thats left alive should be taken away for their own damn safety.

Stupid fucking parents :feels-hot

Here's the sad thing. We wouldn't NEED guns to protect ourselves if guns had never been invented at all. It's a really depressing thing to know that out of thousands of years of human evolution, some of our biggest "advances" are the invention of violent weapons like guns and bombs. :(

But I am not for gun control. Now that guns HAVE been invented, they ARE needed for protection. We don't have one, yet, but we have been considering it. But having small children in the house we would definately keep it locked up in an out-of-the-way location and I doubt the kids would ever even know we had it, much less where it was. And I certainly wouldn't leave them alone in the house NOW, and we don't even HAVE a gun yet.

Parents leaving their kids home alone with guns in the house... parents smoking so much dope around their kids that they know how to make a bomb at age 5... ARGH! But what's the solution? Adding mandatory drug testing for all parents once a month? Making parenting classes mandatory in middle school and again in high school? Obviously not, but what can be done? :(

Bad parents often spawn more bad parents. *sigh*

I really hate to be in such a disagreeing mood today, but....:winkwink:

I do not only use my gun to protect myself from other people with guns, but evil horrible people of all kinds. If someone were coming in to my home to rape my child (not shoot her), I would still want the ability to shoot that son-of-a-bitch right between the eyes!

Interviews can hardly be bullshit.

I have read the Michael Moore is a liar sites, but I still took it upon myself to watch the movie and compare it for myself and THINK FOR MYSELF.

I stated not whether any part was true or false, but interviews and facts speak louder than someone on a message board saying 'a lot of that is bullshit.'

The dates and facts of leaders we have put in, removed, aided, trained, supplied chemicals to, okayed assination of, and given billions to is hardly incorrect, and is both valid, and accurate.

What exactly is BS in it, if you dont mind me asking?

And dont just hit me with a link.

Think for yourself

Instead of all the time and money spent trying to make it harder to legally buy a gun, maybe it's time we made it harder to become parents. :(

How many 80 year olds ARE in their right mind?

What I find odd is how many of you feel you "need" to have a gun for protection. Are you paranoid or something?
Chances of serial killers coming into your house are rather slim, and if a burglar or a robber comes into your house, pulling a gun actually is more dangerous than not doing so. If you don't, your stuff will get stolen. If you do, he'll pull his gun as well, and someone will probably die.
And, since real life isn't an action movie, chances are it's gonna be you, your partner or your children.

Sensationalist media and action movies seem to have turned some of you people into idiots...

I think most of the people who feel that they need a gun for protection are just paranoid and afraid of what COULD happen. A lot of people are small and not very strong. They're afraid of the big and strong, understandably so.

Personally, I like guns because I think they're cool. Power and control is interesting to be, especially when it can be harnessed. Guns do that.

A popular argument I see is "guns serve no purpose, why do you need them?!" They do serve a purpose. Stress relief, pure interest, "protection", etc. It's not that big of a deal. Most of the arguments used on guns can also be used on drugs. I really don't care either way, it ALWAYS boils down to the user.

"Drugs are bad and create junkies that don't work." "My best friend is a CEO for a local computer company, total stoner."

"Guns are only used to kill people. Guns are bad." "My brother has a very stressful job as an ER doctor. Every now and then he'll go relieve some stress by taking a trip to the shooting range."

It's all about the user.

jennym 09-29-2003 02:04 PM

I never said I "needed" my gun...I said I have it for protection. I have that right, which should not be taken away because of dumb fucks in this world. As for a serial killer, one was arrested here (Louisiana) recently. A few years back, he WAS in my sisters home.

I am far from an idiot :321GFY
