GoDaddy - any problem with them?

I have all my domains at Dotster ($15). I would like to know if GoDaddy is good or sucks.

Thanks

Jer

Never had much issue with GoDaddy. I'm in the process of moving all mine to Rackshack. $5 a pop...can't beat that.

There are a couple of threads on here about cockups at godaddy, but given the number of domains they look after, it's not bad.

Will say when I had a problem (they somehow transferred one of my domains to someones elses account just before it came up for renewal) there support was crap. Exchanged 6/7 emails and all they could say was 'we are looking at the problem', then the 'new' owner didn't renew (Duh!) and it expired, they basically said 'tough'.

My point is not the cock-up. Shit happens. But support in my case was lousy. It's a pile em high and sell em cheap operation. I don't register really important domains there any more. You pays your money and makes yer choice.

came from dotster as well, moved to godaddy... no problems so far, very satisfied... i think their e-mail support is very adequate... they replied instantly all the time.

Hmmm. I don't plan to move any of my domains to there, I'm just looking for a cheaper place to register some domains... but if their support sucks then better find another registrar.

QUESTION... and fits with this GoDaddy thread.

I have several domains still listed with the over-priced Verisign (network solutions). With their new 404-wildcard, I notice my sites listed with various mispellings. Other domains of mine with other regs are not listed with similar tests.

So I ask... is saving a few bucks a year worth it for important domain names?
