Hey, I have no complaints... I have made a few sales with them and have been paid on time... But I don't feel the need to kiss their ass or anyones ass over sales that I generated... I worked for those sales... all they did was provide the content... Same as any other sponsor... You usually see this when prizes are being given away... it amazes me what people will do for free stuff..... :) |
Never seen Lightspeed linking codes that look like that.
Mine: http://www.lightspeedcash.com/link.php?s=JOR&r=273190 Yours: http://stats.lightspeedcash.com/link.php?s=JOR&r=bat Strange |
The links you used were incorrect and invalid and should not have been used. This may have worked for a while due to a duplicate or internal file, and when this file - which you shouldn't have been using - was removed your links went 404.
My reponse to you via ICQ was that I had two of our programmers look into this matter, and no one can explain what happened. What seems to have happened is that you used the wrong links. No one else has had this problem but you. I didn't tell you that this was "not our problem". What I told you is that we looked into it and the only thing we see wrong is the link you were using. Lane has installed a similar file, and I believe we are now catching your traffic to these links. No drama here. Just a webmaster using wrong links. |

It''s not my problem but he said that he got the links from your linking code area......

How can you ignore this? Where else but the ls admin area would i get my links from? I dont make them up. And isnt it very odd that they did work? They did track hits and did generate sales so they werent so wrong after all, werent they. Sorry, just saying i used the wrong links, bye, is a very very wrong attitude from a sponsor. |

And as mentioned before, they were there for a longer period than 1 day. Its wasnt just an error that was there for 3 mins and me copying the links at the wrong time. No those links were there at least for a week or 10 days. |

unless they deny the sales ever occured, they should credit them to you.

Actually, this was just brought to my attention, and I know something about it.
We split our lightspeedcash server into two servers. One to receive traffic, and one for affiliate stats. During this split, for about a day, there was a mistake in the "banners" section of our admin area, showing the linking code as "http://stats.lightspeedcash..." It was corrected as soon as it was noticed. (about 1-2 days TOPS) The linking codes in the "linking codes" section were correct all along, as a different program was used to display those. Battuss obviously used the linking codes given to him in the banners section, obviously he didn't pull a new linking code out of his ass. I fixed this problem myself, and I casually mentioned it to one of our programmers, but she must have forgotten about it. I don't think I ever mentioned it to Richard. It was also our mistake not to email our affiliates about the error. I had problem corrected and I only recieved one email about the 404 which was quickly explained. Battuss, you know me and you know I'm not out to "screw" anyone. I understand your frustration, and when you contact me on icq (27295695) I will work out a compensation for your lost traffic/income. I think it sucked that you came to this board the way you did. After I personally told you in Amsterdam that if you ever need anything from Lightspeedcash you can bring it to me. Steve Lightspeed |

Like i said, its not tons but that doesnt matter at the moment. |
Edit : Just read Steve's post.
I was STILL having the trouble he described as of this morning though. Linking codes in the affiliate "Link Codes" area going to a 404. Haven't checked since then. |
I have to agree with Battuss, using the wrong links is one thing but using the wrong links you got from the admin area, which worked at the time is something else entirely.
though I do think its a bit silly not to double check your linking codes after buying a paid spot. |

I talked to someone yesterday on icq who remembered a while back he suddenly had a ls gallery going to a 404 page. He deleted it and didnt pay any further attention to it. Too bad we dont know if it was the same problem. |

im wondering if you use drugs.. this is a typical mistake people make then they're high :1orglaugh

Answer is there. Steve, i will contact you. I feel bad about bringing this to the boards, very bad. Not my style. I gave it time but Rochard didnt feel like it was worth the hassle of a deeper investigation so to me the only option was bringing it to the boards. |

Rochard did indeed feel like it was worthy of a deeper investigation, that is why he asked me about it. People make mistakes man, when you make yours lets hope other's are more understanding. Steve Lightspeed |

Steve : The links given in the link codes (Or hosted galleries, I cannot remember to be honest as I sadi) were still not working for myself this morning. The were sending me to your 404. I can email you my ID if you like. |

nice reply... mistakes happen.. we learn from them and move on.. dwelling on them means you get left behind :2 cents: |

Let me be clear that the links shown in the "linking codes" section of our admin area were always correct.

People make mistakes, i do, everybody does. I still think Rochard didnt handle this in a professional way, at least not from what i saw during our icq conversations. Going to the boards isnt professional either but gets things solved as we can see here. Now everybody know what went wrong, people see you are willing to compensate (which i dont see as important at the moment, i just wanted this corrected) |
Quote:
anyway, from what i see you pretty much resolved the issue. |

post about how to handle customers/webmasters ! LS:thumbsup |

The difference is that mistakes can be fixed, but posts don't get removed. If you search "Lightspeedcash" here on gfy you will see hundreds of positive threads, and this one. |
And yes, i was highly frustrated yet gave Rochard the chance to solve this before making it public.
He said (i can copy and paste if you want) that the only answer he can give is that he doesnt see anything wrong on the ls side. Case closed. |

We can ask Lensman if this thread can be removed. Fine with me. |

stop posting and do some french kisses :1orglaugh
|
I understand you are pissed off, so was i.
I simply, at this point cannot say sorry for posting this. I feel bad about it but cannot say sorry. i told Rochard up front i would post here if he closed the case that easily. His response was closing the case that easily. |
i almost fainted to that thread title, sucks you had bad enough luck to pick up the codes at the wrong moment, shit happens :(
you were right about the ass kissing part though: not many sponsors are going to admit this kind of error on their part AND offer a compensation :thumbsup btw see sig for a correct linking code :1orglaugh |
That happened to me as well. I had added links for the LS Girls site and realized after a couple days they were not working.
I fixed all the links with this command: find tgp -name '*.html' -exec perl -pi -e 's/stats.lightspeedcash/www.lightspeedcash/g' {} \; |

i suppose rochard dismissed the problem since there are people using wrong linking codes and bitching about it every day, i've even seen galleries listed at big tgps with broken ref codes :uhoh
|
Ok this is now professionally solved.
I agreed with Steve i will get the super duper vip treatment in Vegas. Lightspeed still rocks. Im gonna get the new linking codes and start over again and make some good money. Now if you didnt already, sign up now and promote their new chick Jordan! www.lightspeedcash.com ! Cheers. |
