It's not that I dont think you guys run a top notch program because you do, but times are changing and the old model is just not cutting it anymore. There has to be a breaking point. I have been marketing trial programs for years and after seeing the stats on $10, I am convinced that point is now. These guy's are sick of getting hit for so much $ just so the site operator can pay their bills. However they don't seem to mind paying a fair price for a good product and that is being proven over and over again in our webmasters stats. If you guys can continue to kick ass on the per trial stuff, more power to you but I assure there is no "scam" invovled with the path adult.com and other successful programs have decided to take.

Lets revisit the $10 programs in 6 months, think they will be small potatoes, maybe make up 5% of the game at the most. Bottom line is they are more of a solution for programs with CB issues, they are a solution for a webmaster looking to maximize income. Of course Lens and Dave, and many others wish everyone would move to such a model, but this is a free economic system... Sometimes too free.

in a couple of months when the new chargeback ratio hammer falls I think lens and the others with $10 programs will be on top and laughing as it's a more sound business model that doesn't TRICK people into paying something they never really thought they'd have to pay more for.

I said it in the other thread and I'll say it again here. If any of you think the $10 / $9.82 / $9.95 deal is about giving the surfer a better, more honest deal, think again. After doing a test sign-up at dicountpassbucks, here's what I found out:

So, it looks like this business model isn't so revolutionary after all.

Same old premise...get the surfer to join as many sites as possible. Count on him forgetting to cancel at least one or more trials. If they don't forget, then get them on the sneaky "trial must be cancelled at least 24 hours before end of trial" clause found a few hundred words down in the T & C.

So the surfer still has a very good chance of getting at least a couple of rebills they weren't counting on.

And, as always, the email membership confirmations don't even mention cancellation or where to cancel.

If you jumped on this like I did because you thought this might finally be giving the surfer a fair shake...well sorry to disappoint. One of these days a program will truly come out that isn't designed to fleece the surfer.

You know what I find most humorous about this entire thread?

I remember when I first started in this biz a little over 5 years ago. And I got an email from a guy to start promoting his little amateur site. He was paying out 3 cents per click and .5 cents on referrals. I figured what the hell I would give it a shot. So I did and I started to make some good money. At the time the only place that really had a lot of webmaster activity was PC's Board. So I frequented there. And I posted about this little program and how I was getting paid like clockwork every two weeks. And that people should check it out. I was flamed seriously. Told that the program would never work. That it was destined for failure and all this other shit.

Just so you all know that program was and still is AmateurPages. Don't sell short the shit you don't understand. Read between the lines and make your own decisions. I have been Beta testing this shit since day one. And using the same traffic I am making more money in the long run with these sites than I was making before.

Will this happen for everyone? Of course not. Will it happen for some. Sure will! Check it out and then make your own decisions. Don't just be lead around by the shit talking on GFY or any other board for that matter.
