Tough new anti-spam law in California
SACRAMENTO, California (AP) -- California will prohibit Internet advertisers from sending unsolicited e-mails under the toughest law of its kind in the nation, providing for fines up to $1 million.

California isn't only going after the spammer if you read the bill they are also going after the end distrubtor of the product being spammed.
Not sure if this is a good thing or not yet ... it basically gives them the right to sue a sponsor program if an affiliate spams the program. It will be interesting to watch but I'm hoping nobody goes out of business because someone has an axe to grind and spams thier program to get back at them. |
