I need info about TaxID & Biz License.

I just picked up the forms, and don`t have much time to search around - can anyone tell me the benefits of obtaining a TaxID & Business License?

I don`t have one at the moment, and never thought it really necessary- Just thinking that since the first of the year is coming up and since my personal taxes have ASSRAPED me in the past, that it might be a wise move to become a business?

After becoming a business could I write off more things?
Such as my mortgage, or a fraction, since I work entirely out of home.
Etc Etc.

If anyone has any info, articles, or otherwise please tell it here.

When this new affiliate network launches it may be better for me to be a business rather than reciving checks and accounts in the 'carlito' name.

Thanks!

wow....

if there was ever a prime candidate for someone in need of a Business 101 book from Barnes & Noble, you my friend are he.

1. Go get an easy to understand basic business book.
2. Read it a couple times.
3. Go talk to a CPA.
4. Re-evaluate your position.
5. Take the appropriate action.

best advice you'll get.

good luck!

Wait!

While i`m waiting on the book and reading thru it...

Anyone have a good public accountant they can point me to?

I am crazy and never used an accountant even while making loads of cash - just very irresponsible but saved enough that I could pay taxes.

Thanks AGAIN.
