The saliva contains a minimal amount of HIV virus, not enough to cause an infection. But still it is quite possible, although there have been very few cases of that.

Also..the jurry really is out on the risks of oral sex and HIV. It is more of a risk for the person giving the oral. Afterall your mouth is one giant mucus membrane. Some people swear you can't get it that way and others say you can even if it is low risk. When in doubt go for flavoured condoms...grape are nice. Don't forget about dental dams (nearly impossible to find in the UK though).
