VAN PATTEN
Ed Gein? Maitre d' at Canal Bar?

BATEMAN
No, serial killer, Wisconsin in the fifties. He was
an interesting guy.

McDERMOTT
So what did Ed say?

BATEMAN
He said, "When I see a pretty girl walking down the
street I think two things. One part of me wants to take her
out and talk to her and be real nice and sweet and treat
her right."

McDERMOTT
What does the other part of him think?

BATEMAN
What her head would look like on a stick.

The Hillside Strangler. Turns out there were two working as a team. One of them, Ken Bianchi, came from my town. Graduated from my High School. He'd be my pick.

Manson isn't any more a serial killer than say... Jim Jones (Jonestown Cult). You'd have to read some knowledgable literature on the nature and patterns of serial killers, but in short, Manson was a cult leader who could be categorized more along the lines of spree/mass murderer. There's even some controversy about whether Manson participated in the actual killings at all, although he probably did. He certainly orchestrated them.

Anyway, serial killers almost never involve others in their killings. By most accounts they do their killings alone, or at most with the cooperation of just one other individual.

But it's easy to lump Manson in with other real serial killers, just because he's so bizarre, and his mind intrigues the same interest of people who are curious about serial killers.

Not my favorite, but I say Saddam Hussein. :winkwink:

SleazeQueen 09-22-2003 07:12 AM

"Favorite" is a poorly chosen word. But...

Charles Ng

And until he is convicted he isn't technically one, but since he's helping police find bodies right now.

Those are mass murderers, not nearly as intriguing as serial killers.

I find no romance in serial killers. As a former court reporter/sketch artist I've had it up to here with these sick fucks.

I've had far too many friends and family the victims of these sadistic psychos.

Perhaps you and the rest wouldn't be so 'gung ho' about these vile people had you close ones the victims of them.

Bet most of you would vomit your guts out with one trip to a morgue.

That is a cool website :) I learned a lot from there, hehe, LOL...Actually I had a security guard where I use to live, that was in the police force as a Forinsec Investergator, and he sat at the jacuzzi and told me and my roommate how to get away we a murder, he called it Homicide 101 :)

Ever see the Ben Stiller Show's version of Manson? It was pretty good. He played the part of Lassie and saved Timmy from a snake bite.

The only one I respect is the Unabomber (Ted Kaczinski).

Vox 09-22-2003 09:09 PM

Don't forget to list Robert Pickton, the pig farmer, linked to 15 murders, suspected of killing 50+ prostitute in B.C.

Did you get Charles Starkweather? http://www.crimelibrary.com/notoriou...r/index_1.html

This guy was one of Stephen King's big inspirations.

Also, while Ed Gein was not brutal or malicious, he gets my vote because I'm from wi and have been fascinated with him my whole life.

Dahmer, on the other hand, was just a sick and disturbed individual.
