Watch ranks.sextracker.com and you'll see it quite often... some site comes out of nowhere, straight into the top 20-40. Whether the traffic is any good or not, it doesn't matter, they've still experienced enormous growth.

... and how come none of them ever make it past ~300-350k?

That's something I've never been able to understand. What's the story behind these kind of sites? Hitbots?...

TGPs and traffic trading is not my thing. Clue me in.

TGPs and traffic trading is not my thing. Clue me in.

No need for hitbot . Growing over the 300k mark is the hardest thing to do . you must have good SE traffic, good layout productivity and TONS of perm trade linking to you . This is usually the top you can go with a trading tgp .

I've grown couple of tgps fast . Jenny me xapster were real good at growing tgps over 100k in 48 hours before and selling them after (especially jenny) . It isn't really hard it's just traidng but the traffic is also very unstable .

does it only work with the text based sites with millions of categories or can other styles be raised to 100k easily?

I confess, I tried to build traffic trading sites, but never really succeeded... the highest I got on my own, with a script, was 4k/day with Blind IO.

Damn, it was easier for me to build sites without a script. 10-20K in a few days was no problem. The problem came when I got bored with it... which usually happened pretty quickly... or I tried to install a script, after which everything would just go down hill.

MOstly texy based with maybe some thumbs . Ugly design most of the time I only designed somethign that looked good and worked once in my life .

Took me few months to understand how it work . BUt I grew up a tgp and kept it over zilla on ST for about 6 months . Made too much money for my age and spent it all on party and anyways long story . Fucked my life up but I started couple and grew them to 100k in less than 24 horus easily .

This isn't a problem but the traffic is unstable and you gotta keep changing design and getting more trades all the time . Lot more work than just runnign a normal bookmark tgp . and way less clicks since the surfer stay on your page for only few minutes

Yes it does... check out http://www.stocking-mania.com a great specialty site averaging 300-400K hits every day accepting submissions in email, using no scripts at all. The guy, KJ who runs it is a pure genius.
