    Microsoft goes after Google

REDMOND, Washington (Reuters) -- Microsoft, which is trying to drive growth by investing in everything from small business software to video games, has quietly set its sights on a new industry -- searching the Web.

Chairman Bill Gates, Chief Executive Steve Ballmer and a handful of other executives sat down in February to answer a question asked countless times before in the world's largest software maker's 28-year history. Should Microsoft build or buy?

if they build or buy, then you can all kiss your dreams of SEO, PR and expired and google tricks goodbye....

when they dominate a market, it's done...

seriously i doubt ever google will be sold to microsoft. It's a very profitable operation with much different way of thinking. They are already too rich and they have the means and imagination to innovate all the time. Of course that's not how business decisions are taken, but google is different from the rest net operations.

                sell out to MS?

(yeah well...not in the idealistic fantasy world i live in)
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR.
Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.
Let me repeat... A 120 x 60 button and no more that 3 lines of DEFAULT SIZE AND COLOR text.

ya but think about it, you buy a windows computer. click the start menu and it has a huge tab that says "search the web" big and bold and pretty, everybody will click it to see what it's about. if their search is really better and delivers better results they will own the internet searching in less then a year. microsoft can do anything they want to their windows and make it so everybody will see and use it even if they don't want to, the average person couldn't even figure out how to load a program on a mac
