    Sueing a sponsor?

We are both US based so that helps but they are in a different city and it is for about 2k.

    A. I fly there and go through small claims court (if they have one).

    B. I have a collection agency I use but not keen on saying this porn site owes me money. And they take 40%.

    C. Contact a lawyer in that town.

Anyone else ever done this and what is the best way to do it. Don't say ignore it as I am not built that way.

You havent told the situation, but you would probably lose in court.

Well the situation is they owe me the money and they say they owe me the money so that part is pretty cut and dry.

that wont work... you'll lose in court... that " he said sh said shit" only works on TV like the people's court... apply to go on their.. they give each of you 2,000 and the loser uses that money to pay the winner... and they put you up there for a few days till they fit you in the filming schedule... a friend of mine went on there and asked me to go as a witness... the witnesses dont get paid though

Hitman is out. I would not look good in fire engine red lipstick trying to fight off my cell mate.

ok so this is a rare deal evidently.

                  ok...here it is

If you are going to sue, do not sue for $2000.00.

Sue for $50,000 and file all your papers in your county not their county.

The crime did not happen in their town it happen on the Internet.
So, basically you can file your claim anywhere in the U.S.

Make sure all your paper work is in order and have a lawyer who is familiar with the Internet and can understand Internet lingo.
Hammer away at least 10,000 pages of documents detailing eveything you ever did. Print out HTML code, C++ Code, Perl Code and anykind of code you can just keep writing shit down.

When he gets served with papers he will try to call you....whatever you do .....do not talk to him redirect him to your lawyer. At this point, he will be willing to settle out of court. Don't stop there keep on adding charges and negotiate through your lawyer.

This is an entry technique that is pretty reliable when dealing with scumbags who are cheap and don't pay.

Contact the local DA as well as the State AG. See if there is a way they will work with you. Odds are the company shafted more than one which goes in your favor. At the very least, if you can back your claims there are odds they will send an investigator out and pull records if they feel the need.

You would need to read their TOS again carefullly before you file anything. If the terms specify a location for settling disputes (which most of them do) then it would do you no good whatsoever to file something outside of the jurisdiction.

Never done it to a sponsor.. but I have had to turn a client over to collections... what a fucking nightmare. 20% plus court fees if it goes that far... and it did.

So, now I am in a court battle with this client, it has been over a year since they went delinquent and my court date is not until December something.. all for 1700.00. But sometimes it's a matter of principle and not money.

Honestly, you're probably SOL.... read their terms and see if you're forced into a specific jurisdiction and more importantly, check the reason they gave for termination. Anything related to fraud or spam, they're the ones who hold all the evidence and they won't share it unless forced to go to court. But honestly, for an amount of 2k or so, I'd just absorb it and move on, it's not worth getting a lawyer but small claims court may be a route to go, I've never tried that.

That's odd, you just didn't get paid for one specific pay period or something? If you weren't terminated it just sounds like an accounting issue where contacting them would fix it.

                                                  TOS are absolutely bullshit.

                                                  Even written contracts are bullshit.

You can dispute "TOS" in your hometown.

The TOS would have to be written absolutely perfect and witness by a person who verified you understood everything.

Just because the TOS says, "we hold the right to terminate without pay" can be disputed in your local court.
