Why does Windows media player 9 crash when viewing mpgs over the web?
If I save a movie to my local machine I can view it in wmp fine, but when I try to look at mpegs over the web my wmp crashes. No reason given, just that it's encountered an error and do I want to send a report to M$.
anyone know how to fix this? I can't uninstall wmp and I can't roll back to a previous version |

Probably because Bill wants everyone to love windows format clips over MPEG's.

![]() but it's true... I formatted mine and now I have no problems. Before it used to crash frequently. The older versions are more stable (try v.7). Or use mplayer1 (the ugly, no frills one that comes installed default with every windows). However that one gives problems d/l codecs if your security settings are too high |
