I have a lovely idea for a yummy sort of venture, one that is not mainstream yet is not online. I want to talk to someone who's done this sort of thing before and discuss the idea and see if I should bother figuring out how to write a good business proposal and finding some investors.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please? Assistance is dearly appreciated.

EscortBiz: Thanks hon, appreciate the tip. The idea doesn't fall into the cute category, but it's more of the "rarely seen/done" thing I think. I'm still investigating it, but so far I've only found one other...and NONE in my general area. There's certainly interest in it, but no one has done it here yet and I think it'd go over famously. Head to your local gov building. There are lots of gov grants for small start ups & probably some private investment companies they can send you to as well.

In Canada, the big one is the Business Development Bank of Canada. You go to them with a decent business proposal & if the numbers work, they'll lend you the money. They have specific funding for female owned/operated businesses as well. I would imagine your area would have something simiilar.
