Photoshop question for you experts!

Got a quick question and I do not know if this is possible.

Senerio:

Is there anyway to set my own filter or macro to sharpen, duplicate layer, then blur and merge? This is just an example.

I would do it as an action, too. The one problem you will face is that you will be setting the blur for a specific photo...and that might not translate to every photo you shoot.

what do you think a batch command uses . . . it uses actions.
so do droplets, there really is no other way of doing it . . . unless you intent on creating your own filter.
