you should check out the lincoln navigator. my mother has one(might get it for a college graduation gift) and the ride is amazing. it handles sharp curves very well considering its size. only down side is it takes 45 bucks to sell the bitch up. :( besides that its a great suv:thumbsup

I have been driving a Dodge Durango R-T the last 3 years and I totally love the truck. Nothing I have driven comes close. It handles in all seasons really well. Carries a ton of gear and also, can fit 8 in there comfortably.
Gas is $45 to fill using super. I only drive about 1 day a week anymore, so thats not a problem. I also own a Jeep Liberty limited edition. Its a nice cruiser, but not that comfortable at all for long rides (3 hours plus). The jeep is a nice smaller SUV. there are a lot of the features of the Benz M on the liberty ( double sealed doors, its fucking SOUNDPROOF) and the little custom touches here and there. Durango is by far the baddest SUV out there for a bad ass manly truck that can you haul a ton of gear / friends / stuff in and also, a giant motor that can outrun most hot rods on the street today. |
The BMW is one of the nicest SUVs I have ever driven. Definately luxurious and drives great. It is everything you would want in an SUV.

If you like the styling and looks of the escalade or navigator but don't want so much exterior bulk that you can't park the thing readily, try an explorer limited..
http://www.lendahand.com/dee67/car.jpg v8, leather, options, even dvd player from between $35-43k depending on the deal you can get.. my 2003 limited (^picture^) came at a pretty good deal at the time, 3k rebate from ford, plus several thousand in just dealing knocked off.. :2 cents: |
i would say denali or escalade. that site escortbiz posted is nice.

Got more ideas on what to buy?
|
Get the Lexus or Acura one. Both will sell better when you want to get rid of them.
If you check kbb.com you can see the average cost of ownership over 5 years for them (I didn't look) and see who is rated well. Good Luck, and expect to spend around 40k |

Highest Rated SUV for quality, value, safety, etc. is currently the Honda Pilot.
You might want to check out the new VW SUV, the Volvo has nice styling and the new Lexus 330. The Mercedes M class is solid as a rock also but kind of staid looking compared to some of the newer designs. Test drive the Pilot, its a gem. |
I never knew this truck existed until I went to the dealerships car shooping, the toyota sequoia, it's bigger than a land cruise, same size as the navigator and fully loaded 47K msrp
Handles nicely for a 5000 pound truck and stops on a dime, alittle under powered compared to big american suv's but the quality of the truck far exceeds anything fomoco or gm will put out. Add some after market wheels and the truck looks great |
Man that honda looks cool.
ANd the toyota is a huge one. Wonder why they donīt promote that harder. |

You sounded like a commercial. :) I was really interested in seeing this truck when I heard it was coming out, but I they dont 'stand out' on the streets like other trucks... The design is kinda boring. The VW version looks alot better and is cheaper. |

The Cayenne Turbo is $120k+ I believe...lol
and its faster than a boxster... has some crazy suspension with 3-4 settings one for OFFROAD USE only..... Fuck how is looks...its a serious ride...lol you can blow the doors of most cars with this SUV. The CayenneS you might see a few of...but the turbo is pretty pricey and supposed to be pretty sic as a daily driver...went to testdrive one...it accelerates almost as well as a 911 or dare I say a Carrera |
What ever you do dont buy Americian.

The Porsche Cayenne may be boring but it is absolutely the best ride I have ever been in...you feel like you own the road...if only it was mine....

Oops, Only the front of it is showing:) Seriously though, that actually really is part of my 2002 Explorer...and the 3rd one I've had. I doubt I ever switch to a different vehicle. I had a major wreck last year in the ice and went off the road, down a hill and rolled it 4 times. It was completely totalled , but I didn't even have a scratch on me. I just feel safe in this thing:-) Explorer or Expedition are unbeatable as far as reliability if you plan to have it long. :2 cents: Ivy |

For $120K? No thanks, all this talk about speed and how fast it goes and off roading.... You cant speed or go offroading in the big city. So whats the use? Most SUVs are for the concrete jungle and thats all. Just because a commercial shows a truck in the woods doesnt mean 'you' will be doing it. Its hype and nothing more. If you do take your luxury SUV out in the sticks and you get stuck - How embarrassing will that tow ride be? |

lol :winkwink:
