i can't teke out this shit of addware or spyware ar what it is.. i've runed spybot search&destroy a couple of times but nothing..

their are a lot of ways for this kind of crap to come into your pc.

microsoft messenger or any other instant message service is a way to let them in, you have to turn these things off, then do a Search on your pc to find where they installed the pop up.

its a pain in the ass.

They used to have a stopannoyingpopups ad that downloaded winpup32.exe onto unwary surfer's computers. Now, they use the download emotion icon, trick. Try the download..then run a adware /spyware detector on your system. You will find an assortment of new entries..all designed to serve up ads, when the surfer is trying to go to YOUR site.

Adware/spyware is amazing simple to implement. Whether thru trick downloads or active x exploits. But, as you should be able to tell by now, I'm not a really big fan of the scum that use this technique to profit from the honest work of others.

And here's another one of my lies...clickheretofind.com offers the emotion icon download to surfers. This download installs Hotbar on the surfers computer. Here is the official word from Norton on Hotbar: (P.S. If it looks like, tastes like and smells like adware and spyware...chances are it is adware and spyware).

Characteristics:

Hotbar is a utility that adds graphical skins to your Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape toolbar along with its own toolbar. However, the program also collects detailed information about the Web pages you view and the data you enter into various online forms (such as your name, email address, telephone number and home address). Hotbar also stores your IP address, domain name, and other information about your operating system. The data collected is used to deliver targeted pop-up advertisements to your computer and add link buttons of competing Web sites to its toolbar based on the Web sites you visit. Hotbar continues to collect information about you even when its toolbar is disabled. It also has the ability to update itself silently, without your knowledge or permission.

Method of Infection:

Hotbar has been advertised via email campaigns, appearing as an official upgrade to Microsoft Outlook. The program is also bundled with older versions of iMesh and other free software programs.

The predecessor to this exploit was the stopannoyingpopups scam from Standard Internet..didn't do dick for stopping popups, but it did do a number on the surfer's registry and installed winpup32.exe, another nasty little exploit.

Standard Internet may not own Hotbar, but, they knowingly provide the avenue for this program to be installed.

Further, the other exploit I mentioned above, stopannoyingpopus installed winpup32.exe on the surfer's computer. A couple of months back, Ron stated that this company was simply sold ad space through Standard Internet. Even if this was the case, SI was once again providing the avenue for installation of the trojan. But, this was not the case. After a complaint was lodged regarding the improper whois information for stopannoyingpopus and the registered company, invinc...lo and behold, the whois info was updated to reflect the proper ownership, Standard Internet.

Stopannoyingpopus has this week been redirected to historykill...a real popup killer...but, when this exploit was originally revealed by me a few weeks back, the program was simply a cover for winpup32.exe. I had an IT acquantence, the director of the IT department of a large company, recreate and document the exploit at that time. 12Clicks was doing his usual threats, so it seemed in my best interest to insure that I had independent documentation of my alleged claims.

Further, there are numerous independent tech reports on the web which have clearly established a link between stoppannoyingpopups and other SI real estate and numerous adware, spyware trojans.

Did you know that all of those adaware programs also pick the Alexa toolbar up as spyware? Why? Because it collects data, which i've agreed to let it do that. You will find others who have posted the OLD whois info for stopannoyingpopups. Others who have recreated the trojan downloads. Even your own quotes, which a few threads later are reversed.

Nope, no worries here. My claims can all withstand a rather rigurous investigation. Your cliams...not so much. Actually, you depend more on the relatively low life experience of many on this board to deflect my claims.
