Downloading DVDS to computer...

Hey guys I have around 400dvds or so & what i was thinking of doing was exctracting the dvds to a computer full of alot of hd's and hooking it up to my tv....i was just wondering how many GB on average is a DVD?

, I was guessing like 3gb or so.. I could be way off.

If you're going to store them on computer so you can watch them on the TV, you'd be better off learning to rip and convert them to DivX or Xvid or something. You can get near DVD quality in 500-700 megs instead of several gigs.

Even if the movies themselves are only 2-3 gigs each you're going to need a shitload of HD storage (over 2Tb for 400 movies). Probably better to rip and re-encode them...
