You're not the only one. There's already a thread on this. Get Ad-Aware, it seems to have cured the problem for me.

I just noticed the page displays before the prompt shows. I'd be willing to bet the password prompt is coming from one of his banners (which are link hotten)

Sorry about double posting buy I just ran an AdAware scan yesterday, this is odd. So it's a local problem on my box or something is up with his site?

That's not it. Check the message in auth popup box.

It's not a banner, he's img srcing. Looks like the guy running the server decided to fight back.

var b=new Image();b.src="http://www.33telki.ru/index.html?stopstealingmylinks";

Odd... I just checked it out and I got the same dialog box. Hit cancel and everything seems to still work fine so I don't exactly know what that's all about.

Haha, is that what's up? I didn't think to check that because it disappeared after I ran Ad-Aware.

Hun hadn't got the message that hotlinking anybody is not a great idea and does not hurt the hotlinked site if its owner posesses at least some technical knowledge.

"Sorry, thehun.com as a free site is closed. Enter you primary (from ISP) e-mail here:"

lol

Same sort of thing as a members area. If you link hotten an image in someone's members area then you'll get a password prompt. The remote server will not return the content until it gets a valid password.

In this case the guy would be logging everything entered, and using the hostname he can guess the ISP and access their mail (or perhaps more if there is some sort of account management page). I'm sure he's picked up quite a few AOL accounts by now.

You really don't read a thread do you?

It only disappeared because you left your browser window open en active and just pressed F5. If you close the browser window and open a new one and type-in www.thehun.net the popup will appear again.

It has nothing to do with adware.
