depends on background.

If it's mostly the same color you can use Magic Wand tool (w)
But if background is messy, for the best selection of the object I use Polygonal Lasso Tool (L). Just zoom in on the pic and cut away.

the methods I use to remove backgrounds are not shared views by many, and practiced by even less. Therefore, I won't go into it. You'd just find it tedious, excessive, and boring anyway. Just use the magic lasso thingy or whatever, like these guys said. That'll be good enough.

Seriously, zoom on it at like 200-300% and use the Polygonal Lasso tool...(way easier than with the regular lasso)
