for you history buff's

The Final Countdown, starring Kirk Douglas

A battleship from early 1980's was somehow warped back in time to december 6th, 1941 (the day before pearl harbor was hit ...)

they have jet planes, helicopters, etc. many things that never existed in the erra of pearl harbor.

makes for a very interesting story.

whats even more strange, the move was made in mid 1980's and was never released until this year!

well i figured some of you may appreciate the film.

info here

funny coincidence ..

in the movie, the ship was named after a dead general or something, but when they got warped back to the 40's. he was still alive. One of the captains of another boat asked "how can the ship be named after someone that is still alive .... ?"

just so happens for the first time EVER, this exact same thing has happened in real life!

USS Reagan - more info here

very cool

its a very nice movie and im a huge WWII fanatic (having several elders in the war)

without giving away the movie ...

they realize that with the power, knowledge of events, and technology they brought back in time, they have the ability to stop the war before it even begins!

i hate to give anymore details, but i was on a waiting list for over a year to get this, and it is well worth it.

This movie was on network TV in the past, I remember seeing it a couple times as a kid. The F-14 vs. the Zero was amusing. It wasn't released just this year, maybe on video or DVD...

Yeah, I remember watching it several times in the 1980s & the 1990s. It's a cool movie to watch.
