how long have you smoked for?

IT just dawned on me ive been smoking for 13 years! May not sound like a long time, but im 26 and thats half my life already.
And its pretty scary when I think about it, at 40 years of age, I will have been smoking 27 years, if I dont quit.
Dumbest thing I ever did was try to be cool and start smoking.

Aint nothing cool about smoking. I hate when people think they have the right to smoke in the non smoking section of a restaraunt I am eating in........

Nothing against smokers, just the assholes who don't think about anyone but themselves

hey bud, give wellbutrin aka zyban a shot. it's worth it man. i'm 24. i smoked a pack and a half for 10 years. my chest started hurting bad, so i knew that it was time for me to quit.

smoking is the dumbest thing you can do to yourself. you are probably paying anywhere between $5-12 a day on cigarettes. do that math on that. you have already given somewhere in the 5 figures to the tobacco companies already. fuck them.

spend the money on some Zyban and take it for 3 months. you will quit for good. all you need is the right mental attitude and some zyban.

Ive heard zyban works wonders, its the side effects that worry me. That said, are they worse then the side effects of smoking?

My problem is I enjoy smoking, especially when drinking.

smoked for just over 20 years...just quit about 3 momths ago. Zyban didn't work for me...made me REALLY aggresive.

The patch worked great...and the dreams were a total bonus...

Well, it's all up to you man. You will quit smoking when you feel it is time.

Zyban worked great for me. Like Elvis said, it does make you aggressive. the first 2 weeks you are on it iakes you feel fucked up. i was very moody. After 2 weeks i was back to feeling normal and i did not feel like i needed another cigarette. i haven't smoked since. it has been 6 months now.

I still drank while i was on it, but i just didn't drink as much. you are gonna have to give some things up, or at least do things in moderation if you want to quit. drinking and smokeing go hand in hand.

getting off of Zyban was very easy for me. One day i went to the pharmacist and refilled my prescription. the girl told me it would be ready in 20 minutes. I thought about it and decided i didn't want to wait 20 minutes, so i left and never went back to pick it up. lol I think it's all in your head. also, it depends on who you are.

Elvis, i had tried the patch in the past and it never worked for me. but i don't think i was ready to quit then. I know many people who have quit using both. for me it was Zyban.

best wishes to you bro. i hope you can stop. it really is a stupid, dirty habit, and it's not worth the money you spend. hopefully it won't take some bad chest pains for you to quit. lol

I smoked for not more than 3 or 4 years

It's difficult sometimes to avoid smoking again.

SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

I smoked for about 25 years...

How did i stopped ?

1- I took vegas Internext as an excuse (out of my office, no computer)

2- Patches (I used only 2 boxes os Step 1). The last 4 patches, I kept them for 48 hours instead of 24

3- Don't put patch at night, you'll sleep very bad ...

4- Don't finish your last pack, I still have my last 5 cigs in my pack in a drawer.
Non smoking= choice, not "no more cigarettes"

5- Treat yourself, you like chips, Maewst cakes, etc... GO FOR IT... You can take on 150 pounds and it's still less damageable than smoking...

6- in a year, it will pay your vegas internext trip ;)

if it makes you feel better, you probably won't live to 40 if you keep smoking, so you won't have to worry about that =)

never smoke, can't stand the smell, and besides why waste so much money on cigarettes?

My Ex-husband SKULL-BUITRE ran off to Colombia with OUR money and screwed me after I helped him build OUR business.
He is hiding in Colombia and never paid the settlement $ from our divorce!

I've smoked on and off for 10. I go through spurts, and yes it is hard to stop, but right now, I have a strict diet and I tell myself daily not to do. I just remind myself that others can smell it on me and I don't want to smell like that.

i think i gained probably 25lbs when i quit. i would eat cookies ALL the time. like you said, eating shit is still less damageable than smoking.

since then i've been working out religiously.

another bonus of quitting smoking is Blood Flow ;) your sex life will become 100x better.

and, you will save enough money to pay for you Vegas trip

Almost cheaper to smoke weed...

I pay 4.38 per pack on sale.. 1 pack a day x 7 days = 30.66 a week...

1/2 oz weed... last maybe 8-9 days - 35-45.00

I smoked for about 10 years and quit 15 or so years ago.

I caught my son smoking when he was 16. If you'd like, I'll be more than happy to help anyone stop the way I got him to stop. Let's just say his stomach gets queasy when he's even AROUND cigarette smoke now.
