Dudes Drop $200 Million + Satellite...

    http://edition.cnn.com/2003/TECH/spa....ap/index.html

Okay. No wonder aliens won't land.

This is a story about a $200 million + satellite that got dropped during a routine move. According to the story, the crew moving the satellite didn't see the support bolts missing because another crew had removed the bolts in an earlier operation.

          You know what?

          I would.

Shit if you're gonna die might as well be with a payload like that strapped to your ass, or looking out the window of Apollo 13 freezing to death while eyeing earth.

Shit, I'll probably die from a heart attack sitting on the toilet...just not as glamorous.

I use to work on some scales at Lockheed, for testing cables they used to lift rockets with, Big dam scales (capacity wise). One crane company dropped one once.
