Ahh...at last a personal anecdote of a true loss of freedom. :thumbsup

Well, technically I could go to jail for owning the domain name balloonbabe.com and balloongirl.net if current lawmakers pursue these matters..

:winkwink: My :2 cents: :2 cents:

Only 6% of so of our workers are unemployed! (Not counting those that gave up looking for a job, or whose benefits ran out!)

Truly something for Bush to be proud about!:feels-hot

I'm sure those families are OVERJOYED at the tax cut they got. Now all they have to do is GIVE IT BACK to pay for the $85 BILLION that Bush now wants to fight Iraqis!

What a STUPID STUPID move the tax cut was when Bush knew that going to war was going to cost so much more money that we could ill afford to spend.

Hmm...you may be right...and they are persuing the matter...in at least one big case. You may want to do some re-thinking. I did.

As I stated I did not favor a tax cut...war or no war...for more than one reason.

This is an ongoing debate, that will never reach an agreement. 40% of the country are liberals, 40% are conservatives and the deciding factor is in the 10% that go along with the popular party at the time.

Yeah the people that make more SHOULD be the ones getting a taxt break, because the fact is, the more you make, the more they take. A friend of mine made like $18k last year and she was complaining about having to pay something like $1400 income/self employment taxes. I pay almost that a WEEK. So yeah, I wonder why it would seem the "rich" get a bigger break? Because they earn and pay more to begin with.

If "hacking" or playing games is now marked as being a terrorist... OH FUCKIN WELL. COntrary to what some 19 year old nerds believe, hacking companies/people/servers/services costs money and inconvenience a lot of people. A lot of you think, terrorism is only a guy wearing a towel on his head, riding a camel... but anyone who terrorizes my life, is in the same league and I hope they get what they deserve. I don't know about any of you... but I didn't appreciate having to remove the Blaster worm from 10 of my PCs and having them reboot themselves like they were on crack, before I knew what was wrong. Neither did the half a million others it effected.

I didn't personally lose any freedoms. People in this industry are afraid of how new laws will affect their income. When infact, I think the porn industry needs a lot more policing than it already has. The major credit card companies have already fucked all of us over more than the government always will. PORN is not illegal. The shady practices of selling and promoting it are. I have no problem with adapting to changes... only the strong survive. I welcome and look forward to them weeding out a lot of the monsters and idiots in this industry, that don't belong here anyway.

:2 cents:

You are aware that the "hacking" that's considered terrorism isn't just writing worms, etc. When you use a program that mimics the yahoo or aol protocol, uncle sam says you're in violation. You do NOT have the right to disassemble any program and reproduce it if the protocol is not made publicly available. And don't you use phish?

And PORN is illegal. Look at recent obscenity cases and statements made by government officials involving these and other cases. Hardcore pornography is officially considered obscenity. The fact is they just haven't cracked down on regular old hardcore yet. They're starting with the bizarre stuff.

So unless there's someone here who never distributes penetration pictures, we're all criminals.

I do plan on moving to Canada in a few years. It's true, I want full blown socialism. All I've seen in this country is 1 success story of a rich fucker who becomes a total douchebag per 100 struggling families. The economy is failing and will only continue to get worse. The inevitable gap widening between the haves and have-nots makes this a continually dangerouse place to raise a family. I just can't bear to leave my family or friends right now, and my girlfriend says she hates canadians cause well, she's a typical front running politically clueless american.

I am not other than warning on front pages and I have always avoided doing hardcore .. I have the right to do what I want on the internet as long as it is legal..

I don't try to have children go to my sites so I would just fight back in court.. The majority of my sites have sex, porn or sluts , whores etc in them so I am not too worried..

Parents need to get off their fucking asses and take care of their kids...They have to follow the laws and have car seats. No reason they can't watch their children's surfing...

Porn per se is not illegal...the Supreme Court ruled on this quite some time ago...but the dangerous part of their ruling is "community standards". Which means that either 6 or 12 (depending upon the jurisdiction) people are allowed to make the judgement call for the community.

I remember the days of the Nixon administration too well. Power corrupts and the power that the Patriot Act gives to the current administration would have allowed too much of what Nixon did that was illegal.

American's are too willing to surrender their freedoms for security, so were the German's prior to WW II. Trust your government, Thomas Jefferson would never had trusted this government and I and I am with him.

Secret files, domestic espionage etc are all there to provide security. We need this security because we meddle in the affairs of other countries for the benefit of multinational corportations so that they can continue to rape the planet and abuse those people least capable of protecting themselves.

These companies only care about their stock price and as they move their tech jobs to India, their manufacturing jobs to China. Damn Ross Perot a true liberal was right about the giant sucking sound from Nafta, he just never considered the other directions the jobs would go. These are the entities who run this country to their personal benefit.

They could care less about freedom and will do what ever is necessary to keep their profits. The government is their tool.
