This is just fucking disgusting this 12 year old honor student girl's mother agreed to settle with the RIAA for $2,000 fucking dollars. That's fucking disgusting that the RIAA would do that shit to them.

The RIAA, can end this file trading shit if they keep doing this, if they make $2000-3000 per laysuit and upto $15,000 for big money makers they can clean up and fund huge amounts of laysuits. Just sue 1000's and 1000's of people all over the world and those who steal using those networks will stop.

Good plan, but I wonder if it'll backfire by everyone boycotting any label affiliated with them.

1000 songs approx cause she paid approx 2.00/song. how low will people go...this was not a crime against a person and she is only 12. easy targets: kids and the elderly and like any other large lawsuit, they go after the weak to make their case seem strong and to be able to scream out "look how many people we signed and look how many cases we won!"

oops i was think of a different case where the strong arm tactic is being used

Just wondering if any groups/websites like IMPA have emerged for file sharing? Cause, if the RIAA wins obviously free file sharing is over - but if all the millions of people who share files stuck together they would have no chance in hell.

This is only an American citizen problem. It's already been reported that no other countries have plans to take any legal actions against downloaders. Actually in Canada all that is planned is an IM campaign with "Downloading is illegal and you?re hurting Artists so please stop" messages? no joke.
